This stretch, known as the Adyar Creek, is one of the last remaining natural wetlands in Chennai ,a fragile ecosystem on the coramendal coast that once supported diverse bird (migratory) and aquatic life. Years of urbanization and pollution had severely degraded the creek. The Adyar River Restoration Trust,by Gov of TN, has been doing phased restoration over the years. One only wishes to see both rivers fully restored with River fronts from their source to the end. Entry is limited and requires an online pass. It would be great if the park opened at 5:30 a.m. instead of 6:30 am. Overall, a much needed green space with crumbling city infra no walkable pathways.
