#ManipurConflict #jiribam Today the CRPF magically turned up to shoot “purportedly militants” who are Village Volunteers but remained mute spectators when the #meiteimilitants torched houses ultimately killing Mrs. Zosangkim at Zairawn. Furthermore, the nearest CRPF post is said to be located just 500 metres away from the house of Mrs. Zosangkim! This further reveals the partisan attitude of the CRPF who have therefore lost their credibility in the eyes of the Kuki-Zo people! A meitei police commando also reportedly went live on Facebook during the killing of the village volunteers. #ManipurViolence #Kuki_Lives_Matter Rubber bullets for the majority Meitei community and live bullets for the minority Kuki community—where is the law, where is justice? An innocent Kuki civilian, who was part of a peaceful protest in KMC Kuki Village, was shot dead by central forces. This tragedy highlights the extreme and disproportionate force used against its own citizens in a democratic country like India. Such actions against peaceful protesters, and the killing of an innocent civilian, deepen divisions and erode trust in the government. In a democracy, the law should protect all its citizens equally, yet this selective violence shows a blatant disregard for justice and human rights. Where is the accountability for this senseless loss of life?
