Yesterday while driving around Stuttgart Arpit Mahendra and I noticed the prices per litre of diesel and petrol (E10 and Super) in Germany and they were sky-high. Diesel costs a whopping ₹260/litre in Germany right now and prices have increased over 50 percent since the start of the conflict in the Middle East earlier this year. This brings into focus exactly what a superb job that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas #MoPNG did in securing supplies and controlling prices during March to June.

I dont think there were even fifty people on the flight back from Mumbai to Delhi yesterday. This led to the shortest takeoff roll I've ever experienced on 27, we lifted off around the intersection with 14-32 and rocketed away thanks to the light load.

I actually slept off quite quickly on my Lufthansa flight between New Delhi and Munich. And say what you will about the German airline, they're consistent. The Bircher Museli for breakfast has tasted the same for the last twenty odd years ive been taking this LH763/762 service between these two cities. The Hash Browns were a bit too oily though. But I did appreciate the idea that you choose your breakfast before you doze off and even select the option to skip it.

Now, that resolves one myth that higher Octane fuel is more energy dense, because we know ethanol isn’t as energy dense as petrol. But higher octane do have certain benefits and how will that help you and Indian carmakers going forward? I try to explain this rather complex topic as succinctly as possible.
