The first frame is a video showing a thug snatching a tourist’s phone on Mawanda Road in Kampala, Uganda, just a few minutes ago. The second frame is a cropped image showing the thugs face, although the face is unclear. The third is an AI-generated enhancement attempting to make the face clearer. The fourth is the police reference number for the case. I personally got robbed a few months ago and tried, Uganda Police Force, to have my phone tracked and i eventually gave up. However, I sappeal to the Uganda Police Force to take this particular case seriously, because it involves a tourist. For that tourist, this could be a very bad experience and may leave them with a negative impression of Uganda. Worse still, they may decide never to return and could discourage others from visiting. We need to think beyond one stolen phone. What happens over the next five years if tourists repeatedly experience the same thing on our streets? You’ll rarely see me post something like this on my account because this part of me is very personal. But Dj Alberto43 (PartyGeneral) has pushed me here. I met DJ Alberto in 2009 at Mbarara Modern School. I was starting O’Level, while he was in A’Level. He later became our Head Boy. Even at such a young age, he was incredibly smart, intelligent, and an exceptional leader. He was literally the bridge between the students and the school administration, and he did that job exceptionally well. He was also the instrumentalist in the Scripture Union Club. This guy could literally play every instrument like piano, guitar, drums and he could sing too. So, when I later found out that he had become a DJ, I wasn’t surprised at all. I’ve been to countless night recreation centres, but honestly, I’ve never come across a DJ who matches Alberto’s energy. He studies his audience, understands the demographic, and gives them exactly what is crafted for their mood and vibe. On 27th September at Black Panther, he’ll be celebrating 15 years of his career as a DJ, and I’m honoured to have been part of this journey from Day 1. Tables are UGX 1M & 2M. Kabanda claims in this video that Odrek Rwabwogo used a company that had been contracted to supply dairy products to South Sudan to instead supply helicopters, and that this same company appears on the list of entities the Government of Uganda is set to compensate to the tune of USD 14 million as part of the Ugandan traders who lost business in South Sudan. If these allegations are true and can be substantiated, then we need serious divine intervention as a country. Even then, PLU has no moral authority to present itself as a champion of the fight against corruption when many of those accused of corruption simply run to the establishment for refuge and continue to enjoy protection. At this point, I honestly don't care who arrests whom, as long as it is within the same circle of people who have looted Uganda for years. Let one group fight the other, and whoever emerges victorious will ultimately have to face Ugandans. For now, let's sit back and watch as they tear each other apart.

She’s Kitibwa Rena Grace, a 15-year-old girl whose dreams were shattered after sitting her PLE in 2024. Earlier today, I spoke to her mother, a single mother of four who is going through an incredibly difficult time. She lost her small salon business while trying to take care of the children and is now battling high blood pressure. As we speak, she is sick, and none of the other children managed to go to school this term. What broke my heart the most is Rena’s situation. Since 2024, she has never even known her exact PLE results. The school only told her that she got a First Grade, but they withheld the results because her school fees balance had accumulated to 800,000 UGX, which the mother failed to clear. I asked whether they had tried checking the results through SMS, but the mother told me the school blocked them. I got emotional while speaking to this confused and distressed woman. I kept asking myself why I don’t yet have the capacity to simply solve such a problem for a young girl without having to bring it here. But this is the reality. So I’m reaching out to all of you. How best can we come together to help this family?
