POV: You get locked out of the Instagram account you’ve owned for years because Meta’s system is broken. Their two-factor authentication sends codes to random old phone numbers, sometimes to my current number, sometimes not at all. I’ve verified my identity, submitted my ID, and even paid for Meta Verified support just to speak to a real person. Now support is telling me they can’t find any connection between the Facebook account I’m messaging them from and the Instagram account I’ve been trying to recover… despite me providing proof of ownership.
