An aerial view of the work going on at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA). According to the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, this is not a refurbishment but a total redesign and rebuild of MMIA. The project will take 22 months and is expected to be commissioned by President Tinubu. Though not part of the current construction, the administration is also working on extending the Red Line train so people leaving the airport can take the train directly to the Ikeja bus stop. We will clean first." -Fashola At a time when Lagos is dealing with a dirty environment, we can look back at how Fashola handled the same problem at Ladipo Market back in 2013. At the time, Ladipo market was experiencing massive environmental degradation caused by the neglect of its residents. After shutting down the market Fashola visited it unannounced and refused to reopen it when conditions had not improved. The market was eventually reopened after an intensive cleanup by the residents due to the stubborness of the former Governor.

This documentary from 2010 features MC Oluomo's second-in-command, Koko Zaria, and aide, Mamok, who was shot in the head in 2015 while having a haircut in Oshodi, Lagos. At the time, MC Oluomo was just a treasurer for the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and Mamok was his right-hand man. Speculations say Mamok was assassinated in retaliation for the killing of Baba Esi another prominent figure in Oshodi that was competing for power and influence with MC Oluomo. MC Oluomo has risen to become NURTW chairman, and Koko Zaria putting on glasses serves as an executive member of the Union. This realization led people to go as far as taking loans from banks to buy land in these places then rent them out at expensive prices. The Managing Director of First Bank Nigeria in 1984, Chief Asabia, says "he [the land owner] will get N50,000 by way of rent in a year, and he will get a minimum of 4 to 5 years rent in advance. So the first slot of payments he receives has cleared his loan in advance, paid his interest on it, and is still substantially okay. He can get another land or buy himself another house in Knightsbridge. It's typical"
