In just ten seconds, Christian Nationalist Pastor Andrew Isker essentially argues that culture is the primary causal force behind salvation, rather than God’s eternal decree. This places him outside Reformed theology. Isker implicitly denies: 1. God’s sovereignty in salvation. If salvation hinges on the presence of a Christian culture, then God is no longer the decisive cause of anyone’s salvation, culture is. 2. Unconditional election. He makes election effectively conditional upon cultural environment. 3. The effectual call. He treats the effectual call as fragile and dependent on cultural support, not as the irresistible work of the Spirit. 4. Christ’s ability to save “to the uttermost.” In his view: – Christ’s ability to save is weakened in secular environments. – Christ’s saving power is limited by man or culture. – External conditions (culture) overpower divine grace (election). This reduces Christ’s saving power from “uttermost” to situational. If secularism can “defeat” Christ’s saving work, then Christ does not save “to the uttermost.” And he replaces all of this with cultural determinism, in which culture determines or controls spiritual outcomes, including whether people are saved or lost.
