A major water main break flooded parts of West Hollywood early Thursday morning after a 36-inch pipe installed in 1916 ruptured near Sunset Boulevard and Holloway Drive. The powerful surge of water sent streets underwater, damaged vehicles, flooded underground garages and created a large sinkhole, prompting widespread road closures and traffic delays. Crews continue working to repair the century-old water line as officials assess the damage and investigate the cause of the rupture.
