There is a media omertà and the organs of the State appear to be working together to minimise the issue. Our research which took a random sample of six EU countries shows that non-national men are four times more likely to be involved in sexual offending than non-national men. The Irish Women’s Coalition on Immigration demand that our government release crime data disaggregated on the basis of ethnicity and country of origin. It is my vision to tackle this issue through public awareness and by providing alternative practical policy solutions. Advocacy should be narrow, focused and have specific stated achievable goals otherwise it is just noise. The threat to women and children is the last missing link in an immigration policy infused with increasing realism which is welcomed.
