Must-watch: Jeremy Grantham, the man who called the 2000 AND 2008 bubbles, just called Bitcoin "proof of unnecessary work, not worth a bucket of warm spit." You've heard pet rock. You've heard Ponzi. Bucket of warm spit is a new one. Every currency in history has been controlled by someone. Bitcoin is the first one that isn't. Fixed supply, no central bank, no printing press, no permission needed. That's not speculation. That's the point.

Fundstrat's Tom Lee said in a CNBC interview that the AI selloff is just the market catching its breath after a parabolic month. The bigger culprit is SpaceX needing to suck $75 billion out of the market, forcing investors to trim their winners to free up cash. He believes this is not part of a broader correction, but he predicts that later in the year we'll see what feels like a bear market.

Trump asked point blank if he knew his family was getting into crypto before he took office. His answer: "I was there before I was in office." Then straight into "we need to be number one or China will get it." Nothing like a national interest pivot to skip the actual question. But TBH he's not wrong. Crypto's a big deal, and if the US doesn't lead, somebody else will.

SoftBank is creating the biggest data center. On Fox Business, Arm CEO and SoftBank Group International CEO Rene Haas was asked what he thinks about Meta selling compute, which could mean a compute supply glut. Haas disagreed, pointing to SpaceX's compute deal with Anthropic as proof of real demand, not oversupply. He said Meta's situation is similar, and that only a handful of companies, SpaceX, Meta, and SoftBank, have the financial muscle to compete at gigawatt scale, which is why SoftBank is moving in.

A 10-15% pullback is on the table, but Fundstrat's Tom Lee isn't worried. On CNBC, he laid out the same call he's had all year: S&P grinds to 7,700-7,800 first, then the pullback comes for understandable reasons. Fed shifting away from forward guidance, an IPO lockup unlocking, oil supply risk building. Earnings momentum stays strong, and with fund managers still way underinvested, he thinks they'll buy the dip hard.

Fundstrat's Tom Lee was asked in a CNBC interview: if you're bullish on AI but worried about inflation, rising yields, and parabolic moves already made... what do you even do? His answer: DRAM is actually defensive. His logic: worried about oil shortages? Memory shortages are bigger. Semis and DRAM work even if the macro gets ugly. And software, specifically Mag 7, is still the best risk-reward in the market. Sometimes the contrarian trade is hiding in plain sight.

Jerome Powell just pulled the ultimate HODL. In this CNBC clip, he said that he is stepping down as Chair but keeping his Governor seat, saying he will "leave when it is appropriate to do so." He’s basically playing goalie for the Fed’s independence, ensuring the institutional architecture doesn’t give in to political pressure. How do you guys feel about this?

Gary Gensler taught blockchain at MIT. The crypto community actually cheered when he got appointed SEC chair. Then he spent four years suing every exchange in sight and calling every token a security. Now he is on a CNBC interview claiming the CFTC should not regulate sports betting because it is not their expertise. Expertise. From the guy who knew exactly what crypto was and came for it anyway. We are glad you are NOT in the SEC anymore. We are not sad to see you go.

Most of crypto is basically a clown show... Pomp's words. Only 4 things survive according to ProCap Financial's Anthony Pompliano: Bitcoin, stablecoins, equity infrastructure, and tokenization. Everything else? Just people spinning up coins and hoping to get rich.
