Opposing broadcasters not giving a shit about the “don’t call us Oakland A’s” mandate and the entire stadium chanting Let’s Go Padres. More empty seats and open grass and 90%-plus opposing teams fans. At least the Padre fans took advantage of the 2/$25 deal.

“They wanna be in the city, but don’t wanna use their name…It feels extremely disrespectful” -Padres Broadcast Game 1 and already opposing teams broadcast are weighing in. This executive FO has made one bad PR move after the next and this was always a puzzling one. #FJF

“It’s the same exact Coliseum…the field is pristine (Clay Wood), the walls, the locker room, the steps, they haven’t changed the carpet in 50 years.” -John Gruden “Oakland to me, is a great sports town.” - Dave Portnoy “And they got screwed!” -Dan Katz Anyone who truly values sports knows exactly how special sports in Oakland was. Will never get over the fact that those that run em never did nor would ever care. Just sad man. Long live the Oakland Coliseum!

“It’s shameful because the people that are running it are shameless! They are experiencing no embarrassment in any facet…seemingly intentional, insidious in fact!” -Dodgers Broadcast Boy they might as well just said “FUCK YOU JOHN FISHER!” Dodgers Broadcast absolutely dragged these bozos and this ridiculous move!

“Just like the drums bangin’ in the outfield, you guys are the heartbeat of the Athletics…no matter where they play.” -Barry Zito Yeah, sorry but those hearts were ripped out of the chest of this fanbase by an owner and executive FO that couldn’t care less about what made this team so magical. This shit is just sad man.

“Baseball can exist in Oakland, it has with great success for many many years. The fact from a business standpoint, the ownership here had slightly different interest.” “There are ways it could have gotten done, there were plenty of wealthy local businessmen who offered to buy the team…and they wanted to keep it here!” Crazy how after an entire season we finally have a team that literally admits what we all know. That it was the owner who didn’t want to be here and that a deal was on the table and could have been done. See 🧵 for more from the Rangers broadcast.
