Sourdough starter recipe! Day 1: 4oz whole wheat flour 4oz warm water Combine in a stainless steel bowl using a silicone or wood spatula. Place in a glass jar/mason jar and loosely cover Day 2: Use 4oz of your “starter” and discard the rest. You probably won’t see any activity at this point but it’s working, trust me. 4oz of AP flour 4oz warm water Combine all ingredients in a stainless steel bowl using a wood/silicone spatula and put it into a clean mason jar. Loosely covered. Days 3-5. There should be some activity at this point! Use day 2 directions except you will be doing this every 12 hours or as close as you can get. (8am/8pm) Day 6 on. If you’re baking a ton, feed daily (4oz starter, 4oz warm water, 4oz AP flour) using less frequently you can store in the back of the fridge and feed every few days. Make sure to check on your starter if you put it in the fridge! Keep your starter stored out on your counter away from direct sunlight or in a cupboard/shelf. If you have a scale - USE IT. If not, 1cup of flour is about 4oz in weight. Enjoy ! Send me updated pics if you decide to start one.

Pt 3. Preheat oven to 500 degrees with the lid on Bake for 20 min with the lid on During the 20 min, Set a timer for 7 min and do the “7 min score” Back into the oven for 13 min covered Lower oven temp to 450 - remove lid Keep on eye on it! (If you notice it’s getting too brown before it’s done, you can cover it again) Internal temp should be between 190-205 when done. I like it closer to 200. Let it cool for 45 min - 1 hour Enjoy! Xx
