I spent 7 years pretending that I was a man. Testosterone has permanent & irreversible physical effects. However, it was also incredibly psychologically damaging to totally disassociate from my sex. I’m still working on reconnecting to womanhood. Trans is an insidious lie.

Transition is an inherently selfish act. It affects everyone around you. Yet you pursue it to the exclusion of everyone else’s feelings around you. It’s like chasing the dragon for something you can never achieve: you can’t change sex. It’s always about the next surgery, next dose of hormones, and a constant focus on one’s external appearance & how they appear to others. Transition leaves widows in its wake. It leaves parents without children. Unless you agree with everything trans, you will most likely become estranged. That’s very encouraged in the TQ+ community. To break family ties. One of the many ways in which TQ+ operates like a cult.

I walked the earth for 7+ years being perceived as male. Men and women absolutely get treated differently. I could write a whole book just about my experiences dodging misogyny as a trans identified female. I’m not surprised young girls want to run away from womanhood.

Detransition is harder than trans ever was. I went from being celebrated for being “stunning and brave” to being called a nazi everyday. There is no safety net in society for detransition. That needs to change. Insurance doesn’t cover medical care for detransition. That needs to change. We are often silenced because we show the cracks in trans. That needs to change.

March 2021 playing “Wonderwall.” 5 years ago I was identifying as a trans man even though I didn’t pass at all. I switched to T shots from compound cream during this year. It was a crossroads. I wish I had talked to others outside of affirming only therapy about my transition. I kept it very quiet for the first half since I was so isolated from others. I definitely didn’t talk to my family about it. I wasn’t a TRA yet. I was just sick, disabled, not working, and very lost back then. It quietly took me down the dark path of transition. This is why today’s decision SCOTUS decision about conversion therapy bans is huge. The affirmation only model of therapy when it comes to trans is a disaster. Had I had someone unpacking my trauma instead of affirming gender nonsense, I may be intact today.

The trans community hates detransitioners. The cancellation campaign that I faced from the left after coming out as detrans was brutal & it’s ongoing. From trying to get me fired from my own law firm to trying to get me disbarred, it’s been an ordeal. However, doing the right thing sometimes means standing alone.
