Mothin Ali is a Muslim politician in Leeds, which is one of my favourite parts of Pakistan. He's famous for celebrating his election victory by shouting "Allah Akbar! This is for the people of Gaza!" and having a wife who wears the full-on niqab. Not classically English traits. But he appeared at the Green Party conference to say he's as English as a cup of Yorkshire tea. In fairness, tea comes from India, so he's not far off. It would help his case that he's English if he wasn't wearing a keffiyeh, the native garb of distant alien countries, and didn't have a Palestine flag pinned to his chest, and hadn't punctuated his speech with a bongo drummer straight out of Indiana Jones. Still, he’s the deputy leader of the Green Party, so maybe he just wants to fit in with its liberal white women. Interestingly Mothin's parents, who came from Bangladesh, didn't wear traditional Muslim garb. His mum wasn't in a full burka, and his dad wore a suit. We're seeing this pattern across the West. First-generation migrants often work harder to fit in than their children do, and the expectation that second-generation migrants would be "just as British as anyone else" isn't true. People cling to their native identity. And as communities of immigrants grow in Britain, there's no British culture in those communities for people to integrate into. When Mothin Ali says that he's as English as a cup of tea, it's probably because he thinks that swathes of England are culturally Bangladeshi. And to be fair, he's right. The truth is, if Mothin Ali actually was English, he wouldn't be elected. He's elected by the Muslim community specifically because he's a Muslim. He campaigns in Bangla, which is the language of Bangladesh, not England. The idea that he's English is kind of ridiculous - if I went to Bangladesh and I had a son there, and I dressed them up as a little British man, with a bowler hat, little shepherd's pie and taught him to say "how do you do" and "please" and "thank you", and he then ran for election in Bangladesh, campaigning for votes from an insular British community that lived there, and in his election victory speech shouted, "Glory be to the Anglican Church! This is for the people of Swindon!" I don't think people in Bangladesh would be like, "Wow, this guy's so Bangladeshi. He's just as Bangladeshi as... (whatever drink they drink there, made at the side of the road in a dustbin)" But obviously this would never happen. I wouldn't move to Bangladesh because I don't want my children to grow up there. I want to live in Britain. And up until about 20 years ago, I did. A country is more than a collection of people who recognise the same teabag. If Ali is as English as anyone else, I want to hear him shout with the same enthusiasm because someone puts up a Union Jack or paints a roundabout with the English flag.

John Cleese is a British comedy legend, famous for satirising the British establishment and Christianity with his film “The Life Of Brian”. People have often said, “Well, if you’re going to make fun of Christianity, why don’t you make fun of Islam?” And John Cleese has said, “Well, because we’d be killed.” And so it has come to pass: John Cleese has been critical of Islam, and as a result, has been the subject of a rather intimidating campaign by Islamists. There’s a long list of Islamists using the threat of violence being to silence people in Britain. The film “Lady of Heaven” offended Muslims in Sheffield, who forced a cinema to withdraw it by forming a huge angry mob which could have been straight out of Life of Brian. The authorities took no action against the mob; the entire chain pulled the film, rewarding the mob tactic. When an autistic 14-year-old schoolboy in Wakefield accidentally scuffed a Koran, his mother was intimidated into groveling in front of a mob of angry Muslims. On behalf of her son, she even put on a headscarf to do so. This all happened with the acquiescence of the British authorities. And a teacher at the grammar school in Batley, in Yorkshire, has been in hiding for five years, ever since he showed an image of the Prophet Mohammad. The Batley Grammar teacher is right to be nervous. In 2020, French school teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded after showing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad during a civics class on freedom of expression. This behaviour has decades-long roots. In the 1980s, novelist Salmon Rushdie had an official fatwa issued against him for his novel The Satanic Verses. Rushdie lived under the threat of Islamist violence for about 40 years until finally a Muslim jumped onto the stage and brutally attacked him, stabbing him several times and nearly killing him, blinding him in one eye. Hey, never let it be said that Islamists don’t hold a grudge. At the time, the establishment equivocated and Labour MPs even condemned Rushdie, siding with the mob to hoover up their votes. As the number of Islamists in Britain grows, and the establishment continues its cowardly acquiescence, expect this violence and intimidation to get worse.

A British town rejects the "far right" - and gets exactly what it asked for. Llantwit Major is a small seaside town in Wales. A few years ago, the government proposed a migrant camp in the centre of town. Anti-migrant groups warned that this would be bad for the town. Then, far-left groups came into the town and convinced the residents that the migrant camp would be good (no more than 90 people, mostly young Ukrainian women fleeing the war) and reminded them that they must reject the far right, or they would look racist. Eager to not look racist, the townspeople staged a counter-protest to the supposed far right and said, "We reject racism! Refugees are welcome here!" The town's voices - Jack, the football club DJ; Father Edwin Counsell, the town's punk-turned-priest; Councillor Gwyn John - all spoke out to condemn "far-right bigots". 73 year old Annie voiced support for the migrant camp. She "loves guerrilla gardening and co-ordinates a seed-swap with other gardening enthusiasts in her community.” Well, that's good, because you're about to get 300 young men just off a boat who want to swap their seed as well. A huge victory for the left, with local townspeople speaking out about how definitely not racist they are, and the BBC writing gushing articles about the plucky little town that rejected the far right. But then the migrant camp was built. The townspeople got what they asked for, and now they're not happy. At the time, Councillor Gwyn John slammed residents' objections to the migrant camp. Now that it's been built, he's complaining about phoning his doctor and being 33rd in the queue. (The migrant camp was built on the site of a proposed medical centre, which has been shelved). And the proposed blonde, nubile Ukrainian women have stopped coming, but the refugees who haven't stopped coming are men from Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the Middle East. They're going to be put up in a sprawling complex that butts right up against residents' gardens, with the housing units peering directly into their homes, just metres away. I hope British towns are ready for this. Andy Burnham wants to move migrants around the country to anywhere where the Labour vote needs to be bolstered by some imported Third World leftists. So either get used to this - or be prepared to be called racist.

Nadiya Hussain, who’s just slammed Ed Sheeran for his “white tears”, was supposed to be the Muslim celebrity who proved immigration works. She rose to prominence in 2015 on the BBC show The Great British Bake Off. This was a time when the West was seeing regular Muslim terror attacks, such as the Paris terror attack the same year that killed 137 people. Nadiya was held aloft by the establishment. "Look, everyone!", they cheered, "see how kind and normal she is!". She was the winner of the Great British Bake Off, and she, the presenters, and the whole of Britain collapsed into tears of joy that this Muslim woman in a headscarf has integrated so fully into British culture that she's now baking cupcakes. The establishment press ran articles such as “Nadiya Hussain serves up the perfect rebuttal to Prime Minister Theresa May's xenophobic rhetoric. The Great British Bake Off winner epitomises Britain's generations of immigrants who have overcome all sorts of adversity and prejudice to make a contribution to wider society” Roll on a decade, and this perfect example of integration is looking a bit stale. Her success launched a stellar career - BBC cookery programmes, bestselling cookbooks, children’s books and fiction. She presented the Queen with her 90th-birthday cake and received an MBE. So she must be pretty grateful to Britain for giving her such opportunities and helping her along every step of the way? No, she's moaning that despite being given this gilded career on a baking tray, it wasn’t enough. She complained that when she released a cookbook about Ramadan food (which is presumably food you just eat in the evenings), she lost followers. She also complained that, as a Muslim woman, she had to work 10 times harder for 10 times less. She complained that one of her recipes was mocked on TV. But the recipe was called "chaat in a bag." It would take a cast iron presenter to hear someone introduce "shat in a bag," and not have a little laugh about it. She complained that "gratitude sat on my face like a muzzle". And she complains that the BBC stopped commissioning her show because of her "opinions". Despite these "opinions" on Gaza and immigration being the only opinions you're allowed to express on the BBC. She complained that outspoken women of colour received labels men escaped. She complained about disagreements over her clothes and lipstick, and complained that being less vocal might have preserved her job. Anonymous BBC sources told the Daily Mail that her star had waned, her recipes had become tired, and she was difficult on set. (Really? I would never have guessed.) And now she's condemning Ed Sheeran for his "white tears". Maybe the BBC were just unlucky in picking Nadiya Hussain as the public face of Islam in Britain. She points to a deeper problem. Polling by the Henry Jackson Society reveals some worrying attitudes amongst Muslims in Britain. 52% of Muslims want to ban depictions of Mohammad, their prophet, compared to just 16% of the general public. 27% want to criminalise homosexuality. That's almost twice as many as the 15% of the general public who do. 29% of Muslims want to ban same-sex marriage, compared to 17% of Brits. 32% want to introduce Sharia law, compared to just 9% of Brits. (I should probably point out at this point, about 9% of the British population is Muslim if you include people who aren't recorded in censuses. When you see "9% of the general population of Britain want Sharia law", it's not like there's a bunch of Christians and Jews and Hindus thinking, "Oh yeah, no, we really need more Sharia law in Britain." That is really just a reflection of what proportion of Britain is now Muslim. 32% of Muslims want to make Islam the national religion, compared to just 12% of the general public. Who are these people who want Islam to be the national religion that aren't Muslim? I guess, to be fair, there's a lot of left-wing people out there. 57% want halal food in schools and hospitals, compared to just 18% of the general public. And the attitudes to Jews are also concerning, revealed in a 2017 study: 28% of Muslims in Britain think that Jews wield excessive power in Britain, compared to just 8% of the population. 27% think that Jews enrich themselves at others' expense, compared to just 12% of Brits. 25% say that Jews exploit Holocaust victimhood for their own purposes, compared to 10% of Brits. 8% think that the Holocaust is a myth, compared to just 2% of Brits. And if you worry about population trends, during a video where she explains that her parents are cousins, Nadiyah reveals that her grandparents have 67 or 68 grandchildren. So, from two Muslims two generations ago, we now have 68 people. Extrapolate this a few generations into the future, and we can see where Britain is heading if even successfully integrated Muslims such as Nadiya are like this.

The spat between Restore and Zionists is infuriating. They both want the same thing. Now to alienate my fellow rightoids AND my “Zionist paymasters” at the same time... There is a concerted effort to bring down Britain's insurgent right-wing party, Restore. They've been accused of racism and anti-Semitism following Restore co-founder Charlie Downes' insinuations that Nigel Farage has been bought by Israel, and his claim that "Restore believe that Britain is a people defined by indigenous British ancestry and Christian faith." Before I, an Anglo-Saxon white man, start talking about Zionism and Israel and the Jews, I should point out I'm a massive fan. I'm a Zionist. I believe the Jews have a right to a homeland, a right to self-determination and to control their borders. The thing is - I believe that the men and women of Britain have this right as well. And this seems to be where I diverge from the people criticising Restore. Jewish journalist Melanie Phillips thundered, "The far right noisily identify British identity with Christianity...[but]... A Hindu or a Sikh, a Jew or a Muslim is as British as anyone else." And she said of migrants, "Upon taking citizenship, all become equally British." But this clashes with her vision of Israel. "Israel is a Jewish state. Its national identity is Israeli and Jewish. So Arabs can only have the first, civic identity, but not the culturally fundamental second one." Hmmm...no "just as Israeli as anyone else" there. Melanie Phillips accepts an ancestral/peoplehood basis for Jewish national self-determination in Israel while expressly denying that British national identity has an equivalent ethnic or ancestry-based character. In the Telegraph, Alister Heath said "Rupert Lowe’s racist cheerleaders can no longer hide their despicable extremism. Downes believes that the fact that 54 per cent of babies were born to white British mothers in 2024 – and thus that 46 per cent were born to “white other”, mixed race or non-white mothers – as “an existential threat to our nation”. This claim, this specific sentence, is racist" But wait a minute. Surely the fact that people whose lineage is outside Britain are popping out nearly half of the babies in the UK is a bit alarming? For all that we might pretend that these people are just as British as anyone else, there's evidence that many are not. I see flags of barbarous third-world regimes waved on Britain's streets. I see a newspaper for black Britons telling me that only one in ten black feel proud to be British. I see David Lammy, a poster boy for an integrated minority, agitate for reparations for foreign countries. I'm a civic nationalist at heart, I genuinely believe people can come here and integrate. But civic nationalism is an ideal. It doesn't necessarily work as planned in the real world, and as distasteful as it might be to bleeding heart liberals such as me, it requires a certain amount of ethno-nationalism. We all know that if Britain became 99% Eritrean overnight, then regardless of what "values" the Eritreans had, we would have a very different country. There's an interesting term that's arisen on the right, "demographic security", where a certain proportion of the British population has to be of British lineage before more migrants are allowed in. This makes sense to me. It preserves the harmony and security of this country and makes it a better place for migrants as well. Israel understands this. They publish the fertility rates of their Arab Muslims alongside the Jewish population as a nudge to Israeli Jews to keep up, or be replaced. Restore have been criticised for presenting over-simplified solutions to complex problems, but there genuinely are simple solutions. Pakistan deported 2.4 million Afghan migrants. They just did it. They told them to go home and, in some cases, laid on coaches to help. Given that Britain used to control a third of the world, I think we can achieve a goal of "being able to do what Pakistan is capable of doing". The right should be the natural ally of Israel and Jews. Israel is the front line of Western civilisation. Israel shows the West how to handle the threat of Islamism, and how to have a healthy nationalism. And what's interesting is that every Jew I know, every Israeli I spoke to, wants Britain to have this healthy nationalism and wants Britain to control its borders. I think a lot of Jews understand that their survival in both countries is dependent on those countries not being overrun by third world barbarians who want to kill Jews. We all know it's not smartly dressed young Restore candidates who are going on stabbing rampages at synagogues.

Miriam Margolyes is a leftist national treasure. She does all the right things, like hate Israel and be a lesbian. Her foul mouthed, mean-spirited loathing of anybody to the right of her is seen as endearing because she’s 107 years old. But this week, she committed the cardinal sin of doing RACISM! She was on television with the ageless Andi Peters. Andi is black, or according to Miriam, “High Yalla”. She told him, “You’ve got a black daddy and a white mummy.” The worst thing about this isn’t the racism; it’s that she’s talking to him as if he’s 4 years old. And what on earth is High Yalla? Did Miriam run a slave plantation in Charleston? “High yellow” is a historic American term for a light-skinned black person, rooted in racial colour hierarchies. I applaud Miriam’s efforts to bring them back. Maybe Miriam could take over from Nathan Cofnas at Cambridge University as professor of racial studies? It’s not her first dalliance with racial controversy. While charging for autographs (maybe her winter fuel discount doesn’t go far enough), she reportedly singled out a black man, saying: “Jews and Blacks, they get a discount.” On Australian television in 2024, she abruptly asked the presenter Waleed Aly: “What are you, by the way? You’re sort of brown.” It’s funny how many ultra-inclusive left-wing Guardianistas are obsessed with carrying out a racial census, 1930s Germany-style. I’m fine with it all. But do you think Nigel Farage would be defended by the same people if he plopped himself down on the Good Morning sofa and asked Floella Benjamin if she was a “quadroon”, then classified her according to a Victorian skin colour chart?

Piddington is a nice village in England about 10 miles northeast of Oxford. Like most nice, kind, middle-class people, they march against the “far-right” and voted Lib Dem, a left-wing party who want to welcome refugees. Then the government announced plans to create an enormous migrant camp holding 1,256 asylum seekers on the edge of Piddington. Piddington's lefties realised they were going to have to deal with the consequences of their own opinions. They thought this camp would be somewhere else, next to some working-class people, as is usual. But no, it’s going to be next to them. So they’re now trying to get the migrants moved - but without looking anti migrant themselves. The local branch of stand up to racism quickly changed its message. Instead of just saying “Refugees welcome”, they added “No to the Bicester asylum camp”. So if they’re welcome, where are they supposed to go? Women of Piddington recorded a video begging women in Parliament to stop the camp. You've got to admire the optimism of appealing to politicians who do nothing while grooming gangs operate across working-class areas, except for telling the victims they should "shut up for the good of diversity". Then Danny Tommo, a working-class patriot street leader whose men in black balaclavas brought Dover to a standstill last weekend, said he was going to attend the village to speak to locals. The prospect of working-class men in the village was more terrifying than the migrant camp for some women. Rachel from Piddington condemned the "far right" and their "fear and xenophobia". Well, if you don't have any fear of this migrant camp, why not let it be built? She also condemned other people in the village for their racism and bigotry - while also saying that they'd made her black husband feel welcome. For a bunch of racists, these villagers don't sound very racist. National newspapers, who'd completely ignored working-class people concerned about migrants in their area, suddenly found the space to run stories about middle-class women worried about camps in their area. Every woman who spoke to the media was keen to stress that they weren't opposed to the migrants coming to Britain - they just didn't think that near their house was a suitable location. Alice West, another Piddington woman, said “There’s published work on the prevalence of depression, hopelessness and suicidal ideation in large-scale, isolated places with limited services, as this would be.” She's just concerned about the migrants getting depressed, guys! Like all the women, she was keen to stress that this wasn't about the background of the men. Alice said, "If you added 1,256 males of any demographic to the end of our village, the risk to women would rise". Really? Because it used to be a military base with 2,500 personnel, mainly men. Nobody was worried about it then. For all that the women protest "it's not about the type of man, it's the numbers, we're too middle class to be racist", they all deliberately chose to live in a place that has one type of man. Piddington is 96% white. The people of Piddington (and their lawyers) have been scrambling to find anything they could get them off the hook for this migrant camp. They've even held a mock referendum whereby their village leaves the UK. But if they're in such a hurry to leave Britain, why don't they just let the migrant camp be built? Then they won't be in Britain anymore. They'll be in Somalia. They eventually found something that could stop the camp: Piddington's population of great crested newts, which are an endangered species (despite appearing in sufficient numbers to stop most vital infrastructure projects in Britain). What sort of country is Britain, where our obligation to international migrant law can only be overruled by our obligation to newts? We should be stopping all migrant camps because of another endangered species: British girls. I've got a feeling that this campaign by the posh women of Piddington is going to be successful, and that sets such a terrible precedent for the future. As soon as this migrant camp is gone, the women in Piddington will go back to donating to migrant charities and slagging off Tommy Robinson and Danny Tommo and anyone else with Tom in their name, and calling working-class patriots thick and racist. Only the middle classes have the resources, the know-how, and the time and the connections to bring political leverage to get the migrant camp out of their area. So we're going to continue with migrants being housed in working-class areas, and this is storing up a tinderbox for the future. I wish the people of Piddington, the people everywhere in Britain, would get over this anxiety, this hang-up of being called racist. Just let yourself be called racist. It doesn't mean anything. It's a trick. It's engineered social pressure designed to make you accept being conquered, having your land taken from you, having your children attacked. I get called racist all the time. I just say, "Thanks!”

The people behind Professor Arday - and the racism row over the academic whistleblower. Jason Arday is the barrel I can’t stop scraping. This week, more footage has emerged to cast doubt on his fantastical claims. A former school friend of his says that Jason was not only able to speak, but he was able to maintain an acapella harmony. And a clip from Surprise Surprise had his girlfriend reeling off his achievements while Jason sweats listening to the bullshit piling up. None of the evidence mounting against him has stopped the usual suspects from rushing to the trenches to defend him. Dr Shola Mos-Eisley-Cantina-bing-bong accused everyone of racism. She could be the next diversity academic to be scrutinised. Bus station tramp James O’Brien put down the bottle of cooking sherry long enough to tell us that only a racist would question Arday - unwittingly making an excellent case for racism, as he implies they’re the only people brave enough to pursue the truth. Nathan Cofnas, an academic who broke rank to ask awkward questions about Professor Arday, was indeed accused of racism for doing so. Journalist Dan Neidle asked “Why was the Jason Arday story broken by a racist blogger and not the mainstream press?”, a question that answers itself (anyone who broke the story would be accused of being a racist blogger by you, Dan). And who were the academics who propelled Professor Arday to such an improbable position? His boss at Cambridge, Hilary Cremin, doesn’t seem to have a professional relationship with him. She holds his hands, stares into his eyes, and gushes over him in a way we wouldn’t see if Jason was a 55-year-old white professor with male-pattern baldness and spectacles. Other academics on the board that unanimously selected him seem to have their own racism problem, condemning “whiteness”, which they described as “pernicious”, and calling for the “re-education of whites”. Haven’t we had enough re-education already? The appointment of Professor Arday, and the condemnation of Nathan Cofnas as “racist” for correctly questioning his appointment, point to a bigger problem in academia where the truth is ignored in favour of expedient ideology. Nathan has researched race science - such landmines as the distribution of IQ by demographic group and the heritability of IQ - and has been condemned for it. It’s academia’s flat-earth belief. No amount of evidence will convince them to drop the mantra that we’re all absolutely equal when it comes to IQ. (I’m being a bit unfair to flat-earthers here because at least the earth looks flat up close.) Harvard psychologist Howard Gardner explicitly states on stage: even if proponents of hereditarian views on intelligence (whom he refers to as “the bad guys”) are correct, “life is short, and we have to make choices about how we spend our time...even if the scientific evidence doesn’t support it.” Yeah, who needs such outmoded ideas as scientific evidence? Certainly not the academic community, that’s for sure.

A radical leftist named Oliver Hutchings has just been found guilty of blackmailing 27 comedy venues into cancelling Katie Hopkins' shows. Hutchings warned the venues due to host Ms Hopkins that, if they failed to cancel the event, he would personally ensure the show was disrupted. He told the venues he would arrange for people in the audience to shout, make noise and set off party poppers to disrupt the event. He also made complaints alleging that venues watered down drinks and had failed to conduct proper staff checks. Which, to be fair, is pretty accurate for most comedy clubs. The prosecutor said Hutchings had told the venues: “If you think I will give up, you are very, very wrong. I will not stop until the evening is cancelled or your business is shut down.” Hutchings also warned: “I will flyer outside your business, I will continue to post about your business in online groups – I swear that on my family’s life.” Hutchings tried to cast himself as the victim and moral guardian of every fashionable protected group. As a gay man, he claimed to represent the LGBT community; because his grandfather had dementia, he positioned himself as a defender of disabled and elderly people; and because he was raised by a single mother, he took offence on behalf of stay-at-home mothers. He assembled a sort of personal grievance Pokémon victimhood collection and used it to justify bullying small venues into cancelling Katie. "Be tolerant, or I will destroy you!" Is this the end for cancel culture in comedy? As a comedian who occasionally says things that might upset you if you're a fat communist with blue hair and a nose ring, I hope so. Cancel culture is a genuine problem. I used to do a solo show every month at a comedy club in London, and they showed me a complaint email they'd received. It said, "We came to see Leo Kearse's show in July, and he was horrific and offensive and we left in disgust. We came back to see him again in October, and he was still horrific and offensive. Can you please stop putting him on?" There's another option you're not looking at here! Other comedians are available. You could see Nish Kumar? Rosie Jones? (if you've got a spare 9 hours). If comedy can only say what the most offendable people in society think then it's going to die because comedy depends on people being able to be irreverent and say an unsayable truth. In spite of the lack of coverage in the media, this conviction is momentous. For too long there's been no cost attached to cancel culture. The people who partake in it, who destroy people's lives and livelihoods, drive people to suicide and their children to starvation, are applauded as heroes by the left. They're not heroes. They're bitter little communist scumbags and it's about time a cost was attached to their bullying. For a long time I was wondering what the cost could be. Could it be social - could cancel culture go out of fashion? I thought that was unlikely. From the Maoist mobs to modern college campuses, there's never been a social negative to cancelling people. I thought: what if a right-wing government gets in and enforces freedom of speech, encourages meritocracy in comedy and allows people to earn if they're right-wing? But the blob is too entrenched. You'll never be able to shift the culture at the BBC. But this conviction is finally attaching a cost to cancel culture. It's great to see.
