The new head of Ukraine’s National Memory Institute, Oleksandr Alfiorov, says Putin can’t be compared with Hitler because Hitler - he believes - was highly educated and influenced by German philosophy and art (fact check: Hitler didn’t have a university degree). He also adds that Russians can’t be compared to Germans (of the Holocaust period), because Germans are highly cultured and Russians are worse than Orcs and more like goblins. Alfiorov is an alumni of the original Azov and of the 3rd detached assault brigade which is controlled by Azov movement’s political leadership. Russian TG channels circulated video of what they claimed to be CIA chief John Ratcliffe’a convoy leaving the Kremlin yesterday. It requires verification. But if Ratcliffe visited the Kremlin and didn’t meet Putin, it sounds like he was deliberately snubbed. He didn’t need to go all the way to the heart of Moscow to shake hands with SVR chief Naryshkin whose HQ is located on the outskirts of the city, not far from Vnukovo airport. Putin did meet Ratcliffe’s predecessor William Burns in 2021 for what resulted in a long and fateful meeting.

Azov movement leader and 3rd corps commander Andriy Biletsky presided over a torchlit ceremony of the reburial of OUN leader Yevhen Konovalets who collaborated with the nazis and was killed by a Soviet agent before the WWII. The reburial is part of the new history policy pursued by Zelensky’s administration under its new chief Kyrylo Budanov. An act that makes all the mainstream figures claiming that Azov has been depoliticised and that Ukraine has no nazi problem look like idiots at best and mendacious nazi sympathisers at worst. Also, another slap at Poland which was the “hero’s” main nemesis during his time.

Police was called to a night club in Odessa and Zelensky-appointed military administration made a condemning statement after a Russian-language song was aired at a night club - and the audience sang it together rather enthusiastically, as you can see in the video. Making Russian a protest language for the Ukrainian youth will be an amazing achievement of ethnonationalist nation builders. Meanwhile, language ombudsman complains that children, including her own, use Russian language more and more.

Putin tells journalists - in passing - that he thinks the conflict is coming to an end. He also claims the West wanted to destroy Russian statehood a few months into the conflict. That must be his answer to “Kyiv in three days” meme. Both sides in this war grossly distort and exaggerate the other side’s intentions so as to claim they’ve averted something terrible through insane escalation.
