🚨 THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHY THE WNBA’S OLD-GUARD CULTURE KEEPS COLLIDING WITH ITS NEW AUDIENCE🚨🚨 Listen to what is being discussed in this video👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽 The argument is essentially that there is an inner social circle within the WNBA, particularly among LGBTQ players and longtime members of the league, and once that group decides what the acceptable position is, everybody else is expected to fall in line. And apparently questioning that dynamic itself becomes the problem. THAT is an echo chamber. The issue isn’t anybody being gay. Nobody should care who another adult dates. The issue is the idea that one social group gets to establish the league’s cultural rules and everyone outside of that circle is expected to conform, stay quiet or risk being treated like an outsider. That’s EXACTLY the kind of old-guard mentality that desperately needs to disappear. You want the WNBA to grow❓❓ Then understand something: THE LEAGUE IS BIGGER THAN YOUR FRIEND GROUP NOW. New players are coming. Millions of new fans are watching. Different opinions are entering the conversation. Everybody isn’t going to think alike, vote alike, speak alike or agree on every social issue. And they shouldn’t have to. If your version of “inclusion” only works when everybody agrees with YOU, that’s not inclusion. That’s conformity. The WNBA wanted mainstream attention. Well, congratulations. Mainstream attention comes with people who don’t live inside your bubble.
