Uber driver pay is broken. Or is it? I showed an Uber exec a $9.07 offer that worked out to about $9.72/hour after my vehicle costs. She asked me, “Did you take it?” I said no. “Then what’s the problem?” That question sent me down a rabbit hole on rate cards, dynamic pricing, agency, bad offers, transparency, and what “fair pay” actually means.

My Tesla was in the shop for 44 days with a $2,915 repair bill at 158,829 miles. After running all the numbers, my Prius is probably the more profitable Uber car. And yet… I still want to drive the Tesla. Daily Drive 2296

The @tesla Cybertruck is the first vehicle I’ve ever driven where complete strangers stop, point, stare, smile, laugh, argue, and judge you… all at the same time. It represents something bigger: AI tech, status, Elon Musk, politics, the future, and attention.

My Uber passenger’s fare changed from $27 to $40. And as the driver, I only received $7 of that $13 increase. Neither of us could explain the math. Daily Drive 2301
