Tuhai River in Liaocheng: Egrets Gracefully Soar as Ecological Restoration Bears Fruit Liaocheng, known as the "Water City of Northern China," has become a haven for wildlife thanks to years of dedicated ecological governance efforts. The recent sighting of flocks of egrets dancing gracefully by the Tuhai River serves as a vivid testament to the city's successful water quality improvement initiatives. These efforts have yielded remarkable results. The water quality of the Tuhai River has improved from Class V to Class III in key sections, creating a thriving ecosystem that supports over 30 species of fish and attracts migratory birds like egrets, herons, and wild ducks. The riverbanks, once barren and polluted, now feature lush vegetation, walking paths, and recreational areas, becoming a popular destination for residents to enjoy nature. Liaocheng's success in ecological governance is part of a larger national strategy. The city has been recognized as a National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zone, with its Tuhai River Management Program cited as a model for other cities in China. The municipal government continues to prioritize ecological protection, aiming to achieve a "15-minute ecological leisure circle" for all residents by 2027. #Liaocheng #Egrets #EcologicalGovernance #WaterCity
