Hi everyone, My name is Sébastien and I am the solo developer of Welcome to Doll Town. First of all, thank you to all who believed in the project and supported it. Thank you for your invaluable feedback, whether it was positive or negative. Many of you loved the game but many of you were also VERY disappointed. I take full responsibility of course because, once again, I am a solo developer and I don’t have anyone else to blame, really. The development and release of Welcome to Doll Town have been an insane roller coaster but it is often the best way to learn and grow. This being said, despite not expressing myself publicly after the social backlash the game received, I still took my time to read everything that was being said. So no, I did not run with your money. Committed to deliver an update, I went beyond what I originally planed… I decided to rebuild the entire project. From scratch. In order to deliver the best possible experience that you and this game deserve. In order to present to you the new features I have been discussing on the Discord these past 4 months, you’ll find attached to this message a video that shows many new upgrades, systems, story elements and more.. that, I am sure, you will love. I want gamers to use their brain. The gaming industry made it so easy for everyone to complete a game that when the slightiest challenge arises, people get frustrated, give up and rant on social media. Fuck that. I grew up on games like Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, Phantasy Star.... We had no internet, no walkthrough... And we had the best time of our lives because we did it OURSELVES. I wanted to keep this a secret for you to find but... After the 'Castlevania' developer and 'Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement' director Shutaro Ida's sad passing, I felt like showing how much of an influence this has been in my horror game: If you punch in the Konami code in Welcome to Doll Town (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A), you'll hear a gothic sound and unlock a Castlevania inspired outfit for the main character. #indiegame Wishlist now on Steam:
