Statement Condemning the Inhumane and Degrading Treatment of a Pregnant Zimbabwean Woman by Health Workers in South Africa We are deeply appalled and outraged by the circulating video of a heavily pregnant Zimbabwean woman in South Africa being ridiculed, dehumanised, and denied healthcare by nurses at a health institution in Pretoria. The conduct of these health professionals, who locked the woman out and callously told her to return to her country because no hospital would help her deliver her baby, is not only inhumane but also a gross violation of basic human rights and medical ethics. Nurses and healthcare workers take an oath to save lives without discrimination or prejudice. The shameful conduct displayed in this video reflects a heartbreaking erosion of the spirit of Ubuntu, the very essence of African solidarity and compassion. Such cruelty has no place in any society, let alone in institutions meant to care, comfort, and preserve life. We strongly condemn this degrading treatment and implore the South African government and the Department of Health to urgently investigate this incident and take appropriate disciplinary action against the individuals involved. Furthermore, we urge the South African authorities to reaffirm their commitment to the universal right to healthcare by ensuring that no person, regardless of nationality, status, or circumstanceis denied medical attention. We also call on the Zimbabwean Embassy in South Africa to urgently locate this vulnerable woman, offer her the necessary consular support, and ensure she receives the medical care she desperately needs and deserves until she delivers her baby safely. No African should be subjected to such indignity in a sister country. We must all rise to restore and defend the dignity of African lives everywhere and to rekindle the spirit of unity, humanity, and shared responsibility across our continent. I strongly believe that about 3 of the proposed constitutional amendments seek to build a better future for Zimbabwe. From my view, some of the amendments will sincerely fix a broken system to create a more stable, unified, and prosperous Zimbabwe for everyone. It’s about moving away from constant political fighting and focusing on what really matters like development, unity, and a government that can deliver on its promises. Our country is stuck in a cycle of endless elections. As soon as one election ends, the next campaign begins. This means politicians are always focused on fighting each other instead of working for us. It creates division and stops long-term projects that would build a better Zimbabwe. The amendment to add 2 more years to the current 5 year term limit gives leaders in parliament and council more time to focus on real issues like fixing our roads, improving our hospitals, and creating jobs. A seven-year cycle means at least five solid years of work without the distraction of politics. It’s a “Sabbath for politics” so we can focus on development. It is unfortunate that every time someone calls for strategic thinking instead of blind reaction, they are accused of benefiting from the regime. Let me make this clear once again: I am not, and have never been, a regime enabler. My commitment has always been to fighting for justice, economic freedom, and a better Zimbabwe for all, not for a political party but for the people. Being in opposition does not mean embracing chaos or supporting reckless actions that do not lead to real change. I refuse to be used as a pawn in internal ZANU-PF power struggles. The M31 protests are not about the people’s suffering they are a factional battle within ZANU-PF. We have seen this script before, and it does not end with freedom for Zimbabweans. Opposing bad governance should not mean blindly following those who manipulate genuine grievances for their own political battles. I stand with the people, and I will always fight for real solutions that bring lasting change not short-term reactions that only benefit a few individuals in political fights. If you believe I am benefiting from the regime, show me where. My record speaks for itself. I have always stood for the people, and I will continue to do so without apology. The constitution of Zimbawe is the Supreme Law of this land. Section 44 enshrines the obligation of the state, every person, including juristic persons and every institution, including agencies of government at every level to respect, protect, promote and fulfil the duty to respect fundamental human rights and freedoms. Governments directive for Zimbabweans settled on so called illegal land is a violation to section 28 of the constitution of Zimbabwe which expressly states that the state and all agencies of government should ensure that every Zimbabwean has access to adequate shelter. The government has never been sincere about housing and land allocation for the past twenty years. Native Zimbabweans are living like foreigners in their own country as access to land for farming or residential stands is now a preserve of the elite or ZANU PF card carrying members. These people who are being ordered to vacate their homes, where are they expected to go? Has the government made provisions for them to get alternative accommodation? What are the plans to compensate development done on the land? President President of Zimbabwe administration should stop the habit of just making sporadic, inhumane decisions that affect livelihoods and people's right to personal security as well. In the video below, Minister Chadzamira speaks of illegal parcelled of land, who was parcelling the land? In rural areas masabhuku nemadzimambo and all these are Zanupf patriots, in urban areas, we have the land barons who are predominantly zanupf supporters and in farming communities those selling land are those who got offer letters with no capacity to farm. Before causing so much pain, suffering and homelessness of hundreds and thousands of Zimbabweans, I propose an extension for the eviction of the people who have been told to vacate the land were they are dwelling until they receive restitution or are compensated. We are all Zimbabwean and should not continue to use archaic laws left behind by the Smith regime to make our own suffer. Some of these laws should just be eradicated and every Zimbabwean should just be allocated land at their rural home to build a homestead. Nyika yeDzimbahwe inorema, inezvirehwa rehwa zvayo.
