So it is official, the Green Isle hotel ☘️has been sold. I have been assured when communicating with both the hotel and the Dept of Justice CET in the past year that it will NOT be used as an IPAS centre when the sale goes through. However, I don't put much trust in anything the government says and if the new owner called up Jim and said, "lets help me make millions off my new pad" what will the Minister do? Locals are rightly very concerned, the last thing Clondalkin needs is another IPAS centre! PS, it would be nice if I didn't have to spend so much time dealing with IPAS centres 🙈, but until we get rid of this government and elect people who will prioritise Irish people in their homeland this is going to be a consistent issue. Update on the Green Isle Hotel. I've contacted the two government TDs in the area, Emer Higgins and Shane Moynihan to ask them to secure a guarantee from the Minister for Justice that this hotel will not be converted into an IPAS centre. The mosque in Balgaddy is the 2nd mosque sdcc have approved in the last year. The one in Lucan village was appealed to An Coimisiún Pleanála and overturned as the zoning was wrong (in other words it should never have been approved in the first place). Now some residents of Balgaddy are fundraising to appeal the approval of the 2nd mosque. I fully support them in their endeavours and hope they get the same result as Lucan village. Most of the funds have already been raised but if anyone would like to donate you can do so here and thanks on behalf of the residents of Balgaddy 🙏

I am extremely disappointed that Saggart Schoolhouse Community Centre has cancelled the meeting I had booked and paid for on Wednesday 13th, tomorrow. I am an elected representative and had arranged the meeting in response to concerns raised by Saggart residents. I was not given a reason for this action. Please share in Whatsapp groups to let people know this cancellation is beyond my control. Citywest, it just gets worse and worse. If you feel this is an unacceptable situation, please call or email the offices of Jim O'Callaghan TD Simon Harris TD Micheál Martin and let them know how you feel. The people of Saggart, Rathcoole and Citywest deserve better. The Irish people deserve better!! Independent Ireland
