Earlier today when an NBC News anchor confronted Gov. Tim Walz about the numerous fraud scandals that have taken place under his watch, Walz boasted that Minnesota is a well-run state, and that's why it attracts criminal fraudsters. That's a ridiculous deflection. A well-run state does NOT attract criminals who steal billions from taxpayers.

Two things that drive me in my service to my community and to this state that I love. 1) If you think things need to change, quit complaining, step up and start doing something to make a difference for your community. 2) When you can engage in civil, respectful conversations, even when we disagree, we are all going to be better for it.

This week, Fahima Mahamud, owner of the “Early Learing Center,” pled guilty to millions in childcare fraud. In February, she was arrested, and that same day she had booked a flight to London. Make no mistake. This fraud culture bloomed while Tim Walz controlled our state's agencies. Amy Klobuchar has endorsed Tim Walz at every twist and turn of his political career. At the same time, Republicans in the MN State House have fought with every inch we've earned to shine a light on this fraud -- and end it -- since we ended Democrat control in 2025. I'm the only candidate in this race for governor with a proven track record of fighting fraud. We have a plan to end it on Day 1 when I am governor.

After nearly 16 years of living under high tax Democrat governors, our hardworking families, senior citizens and businesses have had enough. Many are leaving Minnesota for states with significantly lower tax burdens. My running mate Ryan Wilson and I raised our families on small business owner incomes. We know what it's like to sign the front of a paycheck. It's time to make Minnesota business, family and senior friendly again. Our top priorities include: -- eliminating the social security tax on our seniors -- cutting taxes for hardworking families and businesses -- reigning in and ending the overburdensome mandates and permit delays on our businesses.

Yesterday, on WCCO Sunday Morning, I reiterated that I will abide by the Republican endorsement, which our delegates will vote on later this May at the state convention. Not all candidates in this race have made that same commitment. Some have even declared they will not abide by the endorsement. It's essential that Republicans unify and rally behind the endorsed candidate, so we can get all hands on deck to defeat D.C. insider Amy Klobuchar or whoever else the Democrats may put up as a rubber stamp Walz third term.

Tim Walz and the Democrat trifecta spent an $18 billion surplus, raised taxes by $10 billion and enabled a culture of fraud that stole billions more. Amy Klobuchar endorsed Walz for vice president and then she endorsed him again for a third term as governor. Minnesotans are ready for real change. Klobuchar is just more of the same.

If I have to show my driver's license to get my fishing license, there is no reason in Minnesota why we shouldn't have Voter ID. As governor I will work with the legislature to make sure our elections are secure, and that includes working with the legislature to pass Voter ID and signing it into law when I'm governor. I spoke about this, and other election integrity issues, during the Goodhue County GOP debate last evening:

I'm a lifelong Minnesotan, and my husband Nick and I are blessed to have built a life as business owners in Greater Minnesota, where we raised four children. We still reside in Cold Spring and are now enjoying our seven grandchildren who all live in this state. But I'm also running for governor. I am in this race to fight for a stronger, better Minnesota -- one where families and businesses can grow and thrive. I shared a quick story last night during a Republican gubernatorial candidate forum about my very first campaign as a write-in for school board:

This is the problem with a governor -- Tim Walz -- that allows a culture of fraud and abuse to persist across his agencies. Real people who have real needs get hurt, while fraudsters profit and taxpayers are left holding the bag. As House Speaker I fought hard to establish a fraud oversight committee to expose the fraud and work towards solutions to prevent it. But we must go beyond shining a light on the issue -- we need action. Democrats, led by Tim Walz, blocked our bill to create an Office of Inspector General last session. We need a champion for the people, not the fraudsters. The fraud has to stop. It will stop when I’m governor.

Minnesota House Republicans have proven over the last two years that when we've had a seat at the table -- when the Democrats no longer had full control of government -- we get good things done for Minnesota. That includes: fighting fraud, reducing our budget by $5 billion, repealing free healthcare for illegal immigrants, stopping Democrats' slew of new tax increase proposals and woke government overreach, providing property tax relief, car tab fee reductions and more. That's with just a 67-67 tie in the state house. We know the path to making Minnesota more affordable, ending the culture fraud and entering a new era of stewardship over Minnesotans' tax dollars is in front of us. This November, voters have the oppprtunity to put the Democrat era of fraud, waste, high taxes and radical ideology behind us.

Minnesotans continue to learn just how dismal the leadership has been inside Gov. Tim Walz's Department of Human Services. A wholesale change at the very top is needed. There is no daylight between Tim Walz and Amy Klobuchar. That's why I'm running for governor. Voters have an opportunity this November to shut the door on the Democrat Era of fraud in Minnesota. Join our fight:

On Monday, Ryan Wilson and I toured the state to share some of the policies I'll work to deliver as governor that will help make living and working in Minnesota more affordable: -- Cut income taxes. -- No tax on tips, no tax on overtime. -- Eliminate social security tax for all seniors. -- Undo Democrat hikes on car tab fees. -- Eliminate the projected $1 billion property tax increase across Minnesota by streamlining/centralizing existing welfare mandates on counties. -- Reform home building regulations to bring down the cost of new homes closer in line with that of our border states. -- Lifting nuclear energy moratorium and other ways to bring down our energy costs.
