$Interrupting the noise again to introduce our newest HERF rescues, Chrissy & Quirky. They both had condylar fractures (cracked lower leg joint) and were repaired surgically with lag screw fixation. They are currently at Cedar Run Farm in Arkansas & will be retired and rehomed when they heal. We are now up to 3 horses and just getting started 🐎 Every like, comment, and share means the world and is a contribution to our efforts and the horses. A quick check-in on the horses and where everyone stands right now: After running in the G1 Hopeful, Curtain Call unfortunately cut his leg. The good news is he’s healing well and is finally back to light workouts on the grass at Palm Meadows. It’s been a patient road back, but he’s moving in the right direction. Sandman is currently resting in Ocala while the team evaluates next steps and maps out the best plan moving forward. Ewing is also resting in Ocala alongside Sandman, with the goal of returning to action when we get back to Saratoga. Silent Tactic is running for Team Casse in the Arkansas Derby on March 28th & Reagan’s Honor will be running in the Blue Grass Stakes on April 4th to hopefully stamp their ticket to the Kentucky Derby. I will be attending both to cheer on the boys 👏🏼 Flightless is still training and will hopefully make her debut this summer. Horse racing is a marathon, not a sprint. The priority is always getting them healthy, happy, and ready when the time is right. Appreciate everyone who keeps checking in and supporting these horses along the journey. 🤝 West Point Tbred Mark Casse

I would like to interrupt the division in the racing industry right now with something we all can agree on- thoroughbred aftercare 🐎 Everyone meet MR. BIT, our newest 3 years old rescue. He has 15 starts with $31,900 in earnings. He was a horse that gave everything he had, every single time. On his last race, he was eased after collapsing due to an abnormal heartbeat. Now under HERF’s care, he’s getting time to rest, heal, and just be a horse again.. closely monitored and surrounded by a team of people who believe in his second chances. And soon, he’ll begin a new chapter helping veterans and first responders heal. It’s ALWAYS about the horses & ALWAYS will be. You can find our new website 🐎❤️
