Walking home and as I passed this place, I noticed a warm glow emanating from it, so I thought I’d go in and investigate. Turns out that it’s a pub.

And now I’m here at this lovely rooftop bar in central London. It’s a gorgeous, hot, sunny day, with a balcony that overlooks all of the London landmarks, so have a guess why nobody is sat outside? That’s right; you’re not allowed drinks outside anymore. They had an incident on Saturday and since then have banned drinks outside. This is everything that’s wrong with this country. A few people do something stupid and instead of dealing with them, everyone has their fun stopped. Bloody depressing.

On my way home. Coming out of Mile End tube station in London this afternoon, I was going to do one of my little videos of the area, but I’ve decided not to now.

Getting to the pub can be a challenge when you live on a boat and have to walk along the towpath after the monsoon.

Here we go again. These Islamic flags have just gone up all the way down Mile End Road in London. The Islamic takeover of London is complete. Why don’t I like that? Because I wanted to live in England, not a third world shithole.

Just walked out of Earl’s Court tube station in London, to be met by this enormous mural to showcase local artists. What do you notice about almost every face on here? Which group do you notice is not represented?

This is an independent coffee shop this morning in Camden Passage, Islington. A perfect location, beautifully done inside, friendly service from the actual owner and yet there’s only me and one other person here. The big chains like Starbucks etc are rammed with people. So next time you moan there are only awful chain coffee shops everywhere, giving terrible service from staff who don’t care and no independents, look at yourself and where you spend your money.

And now I’m here in Liberty’s, one of my favourite shops, for a peruse of their wares (and also to shelter from the hail). This plate caught my eye and I thought it might look nice on my boat. Right up to the moment that I turned it over to see the price.

On my way to ikea and I’ve accidentally come to a gorgeous rooftop bar overlooking Regent Street instead. Haven’t been here for a few years. Used to be a tiny standing only rooftop, but they’ve expanded it nicely. A perfect place to sit with a wine in the sunshine. IKEA can wait.

On the tube heading home now. Turnham Green in Chiswick to Whitechapel. For those who don’t know London, it’s like going from a very lovely place, to Kabul in Afghanistan. And for those of you who haven’t been to Kabul, it’s shit. I wouldn’t recommend it. Anyway, does anyone else play the game while sat on the tube where you have to visualise what the outside of the station at each stop looks like? I always do. Maybe it’s just me.

Mornin’. Survived the first night on my sailing boat and have just come out on deck to be met by one of the most beautiful scenes I’ve ever seen. Sunrise over the River Deben to a dawn chorus from the birds. Really very pleasant.

And now some proper British cultural history going past. I’m on the 21 bus and unless I’m mistaken, those council tower blocks over on the right, are where Del and Rodney lived in Only Fools and Horses. Nelson Mandela House in Peckham. Lovely jubbly

And now I’m here at Liverpool Street Station in London in the hope of getting the Elizabeth Line home. It seems that a few other people have thought the same thing.

Last look at the scenery from my deck tonight before bed. My neighbour’s obviously feeling chilly; he’s got his fire lit! All is beautiful and still as the smoke drifts across the canal. Nighty night boys and girls. See you tomorrow for more fun.

Happy Christmas you beautiful people. Speaking of beautiful, I arrived at this hotel last night in the dark and couldn’t see a thing of the scenery, but I’ve just woken up, stepped out of my room onto the balcony and this is the view. A perfect white Christmas.

It’s snowing! In London! After being trapped in a pub by the river a couple of days ago, now I’m going to be trapped in this pub by this blizzard and the snowdrifts. Will my luck never improve?

Lymington on a sunny Saturday afternoon. A very pleasant English town. Lovely little shops and a young man singing opera. What more could you wish for.

Outside King’s Cross station, London right now and looking at St Pancras Station and then across the road to the new build under construction. One of those buildings I think is beautiful and one I think is shit. There is a clue in my commentary on this video I’ve just taken.

And now I’m here. In England. A beautiful old wood sign, the stocks (we could do with these in London), a village community owned shop from which I’ve just bought a pork pie that’s local and strawberry jam made by someone in the village and the pub. This is perfection.

Well no one can say that my life isn’t one big adventure. I got the train to Woodbridge in Suffolk today so that I could go out on my sailing boat and spend the night on it. I got to my dinghy and then just needed to row a couple of hundred metres to my boat. Well, the second I rowed out into the river, the wind picked up and blew like crazy. The tide was also racing in so half way across I was rowing like mad and going nowhere. I did not fancy being pushed onto the banks as that would not have been ideal. Luckily, I managed to grab hold of a boat on a swinging mooring in the river and tied on. I sat there in my dinghy, in the middle of the river with the wind blowing so hard it was hard to think. The rain was also lashing down by this point and I decided that sitting there for the rest of my life was not what I wanted, so I called the boatyard and they sent a guy in a motorboat out who towed me back in. I never reached my boat. I tied my dinghy back up and trudged to the pub to debate what to do. My train ticket to return to London isn’t valid until tomorrow and that cost £51 so I really didn’t want to leave and buy another. I looked on my phone and every hotel in Woodbridge is a million pounds. I the went on Airbnb and found a bell tent on a glamping site for just £67. Booked! I walked here and just as I arrived, the road was flooded so I waded through six inches of water for a hundred metres, so my shoes are as if I went swimming. I’m going to have to accept that a trip to Woodbridge involves getting soaked. Anyway, now I’m here in the most beautiful oasis. A gorgeous bell tent to myself and the lady has brought me tea and coffee as her chickens follow her around. This couldn’t be more beautiful. So you see, just when you think it’s all rubbish, things change and you’re happy again. I love this place.
