esme was the one that got kidnapped but eleni is saying adil name and running to him until esme called her like it’s actually insane how even though eleni says she sees esdil as her parents it’s so obvious through the writing that adil comes first for her. like adil can be her father without esme but esme can’t be her mother without adil that’s the dynamic the writers keep showing over and over they always give adil and eleni the emotional scenes the deeper conversations the big moments while esme is constantly standing to the side just watching them even in her hallucinations it’s always adil and eleni together while esme is next to them like an outsider looking in eleni was a girl who came looking for her mother and her said mother is a woman who thought her daughter was dead for 20 years but instead of properly writing that relationship they keep centering the father-daughter bond and treating the mother-daughter one like it’s not important. eleni and adil relationship is one of my favs relationship on the show but it’s so frustrating that eleni and esme never get the same care, depth, and emotional focus.
