I got into MMA in part because I wanted to get away from politics. Instead, politics followed me there. Watching the sport become increasingly politicized, and watching so much of the media ignore it, has fundamentally changed how I see both MMA and the country.

Joe Rogan is not just getting things wrong, he is getting them wrong confidently. Being easily fooled by bad information is dangerous when your platform is this large.

ICE is reportedly targeting UFC fans in a major deportation officer recruitment push. That choice is not random. It reflects how MMA is now understood politically.

The UFC did not accidentally become a political actor. It made repeated, deliberate choices to rehabilitate a candidate and court a specific audience. Pretending the White House card is neutral is pure gaslighting.

I realize he’s made noteworthy predictions about geopolitical events, but it’s important to acknowledge red flags about Prof. Jiang, too. Here’s a great example of his claims lacking rigor or even any kind of real evidentiary basis:

Countries like Canada and Japan are begging for immigrants because their populations are aging too fast. Meanwhile, the United States is pushing people out and refusing to modernize a system stuck in 1990. That imbalance will catch up.

A country built on immigration cannot pretend immigrants are the problem. The data shows they start businesses, attract investment, and strengthen communities. Ideology is overruling reality.

There are moments that reset how you see the world. For many, what has happened in Gaza is that moment. The scale of suffering crosses a line that cannot be walked back.

Life does not just get busier as you age. It gets heavier. The stakes feel higher, the losses hit harder, and the illusion of endless time disappears.

Jerry Seinfeld's "Palestine doesn't exist" comment wasn't controversial because it was blunt. It was controversial because it dismissed the identity and history of an entire people with a casual one-liner.

Dana White can call himself "down the middle" all he wants, but critics argue the relevant question is not what he says, it's what he does. When a sports organization repeatedly helps elevate a political movement, people are going to judge the actions more than the branding.

Yes, crimes committed by undocumented immigrants happen. All crimes are bad. But pretending immigrants commit more crime than natives is simply false.

If this was really about celebrating America’s 250th birthday, why move it away from July 4th? Shifting the fights to Trump’s birthday weekend makes the whole thing feel less like a national celebration and more like a tribute.

When Joe Rogan shifts blame away from ICE and toward activists, the victims disappear from the conversation. That reframing is not neutral analysis. It is protection for power.

Hasan Piker reacted to a recent clip of mine where I argued MMA has become a right-wing sport. His take actually highlights the exact dynamic I was talking about.

People keep acting shocked that left leaning analysis is landing with MMA fans. The truth is simpler. Plenty of viewers were disaffected for years and finally feel like someone is saying what they were thinking.

Audience size is not a substitute for standards. Entertaining power is different from holding it accountable, and confusing the two leads to bad media.
