In GTA 5, the technique used for rendering fur on animals is also used (albeit tweaked) to render grass. The technique is simply drawing multiple layers, which each being slightly larger (offset by normals, which slightly droop) The grass shader is thus aptly named "grass_fur"

In the GTAO The Contract update, Rockstar covered up some art at the beach. Some art underneath tiles on a bathroom was covered. While I couldn't find any information specific to this, Rockstar has previously replaced art due to complaints from the real life equivalent's artists

I briefly thought that rockstar had a unused cutscene variant of a velum approach to Cayo. But no, it's just that no sane person goes into Cayo aggressive so I had literally never seen this until now. So maybe you also haven't seen this before :p

Kind of scrapped a post idea discussing the differences in how michael/franklin/trevor cutscenes are filmed. But in doing so i did have this thing which shows the camera as a physical object which looks kinda neat with the handheld style scenes.

Abysmal Dogshit Fun Fact of the day: "Dawdle" is said a total of 5 times throughout GTA 5 and GTA Online. 3 of which are by Lester in the Casino Heist. And if Wiktionary is to be believed, "dawdle" is a fairly british term, so this may be Rockstar's locale creeping in.

Something I noticed in the Extended Look is that pretty much all the cutscenes are filmed in a handheld-style. GTA 5 had a mix per character, whereas with GTA 6 it appears to be primarily handheld, with it being more shaky/erratic in more tense situations. [1/4]

remind me when gta 6 releases to shoot a chair. i will base my opinion on it solely from that. Rockstar Games your gameplay trailer should include a 18 second long clip of a player shooting a chair. I will note, on this particular metric, gta 5 is abysmal

okay maybe just a me thing, but I do quite like this animation/minigame thing. Is a nice touch, and is some of the most polished/...delicate(?, not sure how to describe it) animations i've seen in GTA 5/GTA Online. Reminds me of the RDR2 house building cutscene.

From the same PS3 dev kit that was found quite a few years ago is another cutscene that was tweaked A good number of lines were trimmed from the Bury the Hatchet graveyard cutscene (in my opinion, for the better) Pretty interesting:
