End of game: - Ja Morant talking to Nets bench again - Taylor Jenkins pulls him away, tells Jordi, "we're good, we're good." - Dennis Schröder approaches Jenkins with some words - Jenkins says "you're gonna let him fucking talk to me like that...what the fuck?"

something fun I forgot to post -- the Liberty run GSW's (and Red Holzman) classic "WTF" SLOB under Chris DeMarco. I have it as their most common SLOB this szn, actually:

THIS is the stuff -- no play call. -- Flow offense, handoff, nothing there. -- Get to second side, well defended, wheel motion though. -- Betnijah recognizes opportunity to drive the catch, nice read (Rhyne asleep). Open three:

We laughed at the idea of Cam Thomas and MPJ together on a bad team as shot-chucking Keystone Cops, but they function much differently as primary options. CT: 4.14 seconds per touch, second-highest among Nets MPJ: 2.09 seconds per touch, third-lowest on the Nets don't laugh, MNSTRPJ as a primary actually helps the Nets facilitate ball-movement. they average 27.6 assists / 100 with him ON, down to 22.8 with him OFF. Those numbers are almost exactly inverted for CT. A perceived deficiency (his inability to create from a standstill) actually reinforces motion concepts in Brooklyn's offense, and a lion's share of the credit goes to Jordi Fernández for designing this offense (117.3 ORTG w/ him ON) around him, particularly the way they create space for him. “He’s a genius of a coach. You know, we’re a young team, we’re going to keep growing, but he’s a genius in terms of the schemes that he puts out, especially offensively for me. The way teams are guarding me, really just face-guarding me and trying not to let me catch the ball, the different creative ways that Jordi has our team running plays to help me get touches and get looks off is really next level. He’s making it so easy for me to play my game. So I really have to thank just Jordi and the offensive coaching staff for how I’ve been able to produce.” -- MPJ

yo man Quinten Post is something else - great drive/kick with the shot-clock low - claps for the ball like he's KD next time down - tries to boom on Adams respect

and speaking of .... "don't run the play just to run the play" you hear it all the time, but here's a great example: the Libs run "WTF" (UCLA entry) three times in the 1Q vs. Washington, and hit an earlier option each time

NYL tenth in rim frequency% this season -- I think Sabrina's absence shows up here. she excels making these PnR manipulation reads for layups, reads that I do think have been available for NYL's guards:

Using hand-tracked data to analyze the New York Liberty's offense. In the link below: -- Every possession, every play-call -- Every ball-screen action -- What actions are leading to buckets for the Liberty? -- Game-by-game data. How is NYL faring vs. each opponent?
