Because the only way you can follow MVDP is on e-bike 🫣🤣 Mathieu van der Poel is confirmed for the World Cup cross-country races in Les Gets, France (22–23 August 2026) and of course then the World Championships in Val di Sole (26–30 August). Video from Diego Buttarelli.

What happened today during the ITT at the Sauerland Rundfahrt simply cannot happen at a professional bike race. Thankfully it was just a scary moment for Louis Leidert, but it could’ve ended worse.

The crash of Jakob Söderqvist that definitively decided the battle for the bronze medal. This is what bronze medallist Paul Seixas said after the race: “Söderqvist was very solid, he fell. It’s not something we appreciate even if it suits me. I have this slight bitterness at the thought that I finished 3rd because a guy fell and we don’t know what could have happened.” And this is what Jakob said: “I’m fully OK. It’s just some lost skin… and also a bit of lost ego, maybe. It’s just a bummer that there wasn’t much of a gap to a medal. You know that maybe this crash is what took it away. “But I knew I had to take every shot to have a chance to compete with the best guys, and so then I took a bit more risk than I usually do today. But I was happily surprised that I was up there contending with the best.” Captured by daniel.kogan #Montréal2026

One beautiful story from Pogi Challenge: Norwegian young cyclist and my friend Patrick Mork who is 15 years old: “I was at the Pogi challenge, which was a beautiful experience by itself, but then when Tadej rode next to me and then in front of me of course I asked him for his sunglasses (while I was pushing 7 W/kg 🤭), he said to meet him after the finish that he would give them to me. And when I arrived at the finish, he was right there doing the interviews, he knew who I was and he gave them to me without hesitation. It was absolutely beautiful and I got 17th place out of like 1300 peopleand I hope one day I will race against Pogi in a race.”

Fan Allen caught the crash of Florian Lipowitz on video… unfortunately, he had to abandon, although he also looked really good in the TT. Apart from that, Remco still looks very good, and he has a very big gap on 3rd place. Del Toro rode a very good TT and lost just a few seconds to Seixas, and the surprise of the day was Skjelmose, who now targets the top 5 overall. Ayuso is still fifth, but he does not look very good. #TDF2026

You want nobody to attack? Block the road. Netcompany Ineos used very interesting tactics yesterday at the Tour of Britain when they tried to help their leader, Filippo Ganna, make it easier on MichaelGate (400m, 10.5%), but in the end Lewis Askey was still the strongest. Do you agree with this kind of tactic? Thank you for sending both videos Jo Hoyles & Philip Walker 🫂 #TourofBritain

What I posted yesterday was not just one thing that happened during yesterday’s ITT at Sauerland Rundfahrt. Just a few minutes apart this happened to Paul Fietzke from Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe too. Today, the race continued and Max Bock won.

Jonas Vingegaard continues his preparation for the Tour in Tignes, and he was caught by my friend termens, who said that when he saw Jonas coming, he decided not to follow his wheel and disturb him, but rather stopped by the side of the road and filmed him this way. And Jonas and his coach appreciated this move.
