My opinion on Tour de France Champs Elysees route change with adding Montmartre climb is clear… The last stage of the Tour de France is one of the most watched days of cycling for non-usual cycling viewers, if not the most. And you simply can’t have there a race where all you need is to watch the last 500 metres to know the results. And you also don’t want "unknown" riders like Groenewegen vs. Meeus to battle for the win. You want the biggest stars attacking there and battling for the win. Yes, it still might end in a sprint, but at least it won’t be 100% certain. Because the breakaway there didn’t succeed for 20 years now. Simply Paris and the Tour couldn’t refuse an opportunity to have one of the most beautiful races in one of the most watched cycling days of the year, instead of a regular boring race. And I am happy they did it. 🇫🇷❤️ #TDF2025
