Watching this doc about George Gilbert and the bedroom scene made my skin crawl tbh. The interviewer fixates on his books, including a mainstream history book about Hitler (my dad has the exact same one lol), then says he should’ve hidden it before filming (sorry what???) I’ve had similar weird moments with journos like this in my own home and it always feels so predatory and disingenuous. Intellectually uncurious with a nasty afterbite of betrayal thrown in. As George points out, he also had a book about Elton John on the shelf. What exactly is the point being made here? Underlying point be very wary letting these people into your house.
