Let's look at who is actually demanding this apology from NewJeans. This article was written by Lee Seung-rok, the Entertainment Bureau Chief at Sports Seoul. If you look at his past columns, a very clear pattern jumps out, he consistently writes articles that paint HYBE corporate leadership in a highly favorable light, while releasing heavily critical opinion pieces targeting certain artists. It's highly unusual for a reporter to continuously write defensive, protective pieces about a massive company while launching persistent attacks on young artists. For example, here he frames NewJeans' legal fight for independence as an "ungrateful" move that hurts the K-pop system, five young girls are somehow breaking a "pitiful," defenseless multi-million dollar industry built and controlled by powerful male executives. Yet, when internal corporate leaks and chaos surrounded HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, Lee didn't demand accountability or apologies. Instead, he wrote a soft, emotional piece framing the situation through the executive's personal "regret" and "reflection". This approach towards idols is a long-standing pattern for him. Years ago, Lee Seung-rok was one of the loudest media voices criticizing Sulli. He wrote heavily moralistic columns scolding her personal choices and calling her "insincere" on stage just months before she tragically passed away. Demanding perfect moral standards from young artists while shielding powerful corporate structures with comforting PR isn't objective journalism. It's corporate defense disguised as an industry critique. Don't let them flip the victim and offender roles here.

I know many people might brush this off as just another small issue, another hiccup in the music industry. But imagine working so hard for something, dedicating years of training, only to have everything ripped away because of a false accusation. All that effort, all that time, gone in an instant. I can't even begin to imagine how painful that must feel. It's heartbreaking to think that one false accusation could jeopardize the dreams of five young, talented girls, the very dreams they spent years building and believing in. Not only that, but after those accusations, they were dragged through the mud with even more false claims, facing harassment, death threats, and even se*ualisation, all of this happening within a subsidiary of the very company that was supposed to protect them. Imagine having your personal information and videos leaked, not by outsiders, but from within. Imagine trying to speak the truth, hoping someone will listen, only to see people swayed by the lies spread by those in power. I can't imagine how frustrating that must have been, or how deeply painful it must have felt. #NewJeans deserve the biggest apology. HYBE OFFICIAL BELIFT LAB An apology would never come close to making up for the damage you caused. These girls were deliberately broken, driven to a point where they had no choice but to return to a company they didn't even want to be in, utterly drained, stripped of their strength, and left to pick up the pieces of a fight they never should have had to face. What you did is unforgivable. You wanted to hurt these young girls in unimaginable ways, all because of a false accusation, and because they refused to stay silent when those accusations affected the people they cared about. What was done to them was cruel, deliberate, and inexcusable. May everyone soon come to know of the lies you've shamelessly fed to the public. You deserve hell, the worst imaginable. This letter was written on 12 November 2025, the very day ADOR announced that only Hyein and Haerin are confirmed to be returning. It feels as though Danielle already sensed the possibility of separation, that ADOR might divide them. It's difficult to imagine the depth of her pain, the realization that the people who had become her home, her family, her refuge, could be taken away from her by a greedy conglomerate and an even greedier man. She had already begun to brace herself for the worst, uncertain whether ADOR would bring back her, Minji, or Hanni at all. She wrote this as a quiet preparation, in case they were no longer allowed to remain together. I also cannot stop thinking about the words Danielle once said to the members when they were still rookies, "I feel like as long as we’re together, we'll be fine." It also reminds me of Hanni's Christmas wish, when she said she wanted them to be together the following year, the year after that, and even ten years later. Their bond was genuinely inseparable, pure, unwavering, and deeply human. This is why many in the general public, myself included, felt drawn to them. Amid an industry saturated with glitz and spectacle, these five girls stood apart by feeling unmistakably human, natural and sincere in a way that could not be manufactured. NewJeans will always be Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein. 💙🩷💛💚💜 #NEWJEANS_IS_FIVE #Always_With_Danielle #MHDHH #NEWJEANS
