Listened to Morning Ireland talking about Fine Gael John McGahon this morning. It was in the "meanwhile" section. Then the presenters mused. 'Will it go away' Like as if RTE doesn't have a major role in making sure it doesn't go away. McGahon isn't fit to be a legislator.

I was asked on Shannonside what I thought about the proposed IPAS centre in Roscommon. At a time when politicians are pandering to the far-right, it’s important to highlight that this country has more than enough resources and room. Tax the wealthiest in our society. It wasn’t refugees who created the housing crisis — it was rich men in suits. #RefugeesWelcome ❤️

Today we had a discussion about Norway over-fishing by 40% above what's agreed. This had led to a reduction of 22% in mackerel quota for Irish fishers. The EU must implement the proposed regulation, which can stop this.

I have raised the issue of the proposed #MERCOSUR agreement at the AGRI committee more than any other MEP in the last 10 years. Lots of the current crop of Irish MEPs are upset about recent developments. Christophe Hansen clearly indicated he would support Mercosur at the AGRI hearing. Didn't stop FG, FG or Independent Ireland MEPs supporting him, though. Now they're complaining that he's doing as he promised.

I spoke tonight in the parliament about the Nature Restoration Law. The refusal to have a debate on something so fundamentally important is simply wrong. Tomorrow MEPs will vote on a text that has never been debated in plenary.
