BREAKING from Luxembourg. Just before today’s Council of the European Council meeting (Justice and Home Affairs), Chat Control, the EU proposal to scan and monitor private messages, was quietly withdrawn from the agenda and from any discussions. The last-minute change is telling. It reflects growing resistance among EU member states and the impact of mounting public pressure across Europe. For now, this controversial plan to undermine encrypted communication has been delayed, but not defeated. The proposal remains on the table and could resurface any time. Europe’s message is clear: citizens will not accept mass surveillance disguised as “safety.” Our privacy and our freedoms and not negotiable.

🚨 EU Parliament just revived Chat Control today. After rejecting it multiple times, they used procedural tricks on the last day before summer break to push it through. More scanning of private (non-encrypted) messages. More surveillance. One win however: end-to-end encryption (Signal etc.) is explicitly protected for now. But this is how freedom dies - death by a thousand “temporary” extensions. Watch is here👇
