The fight against cybercrime has entered a new and stronger global phase. Ghana joined 54 other countries in signing the United Nations Convention Against Cybercrime during the Signing Ceremony and High-Level Conference which marks a major milestone in the world’s collective effort to combat cyber threats that know no borders. The signing was done by the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, who also delivered Ghana’s statement; reaffirming our nation’s strong commitment to international cooperation in the fight against cybercrime. For Ghana, this Convention strengthens our ability to collaborate internationally, access digital evidence more effectively, and enhance law enforcement capacity to investigate and prevent complex cybercrimes. It is a powerful step toward protecting citizens, businesses, and institutions in our digital ecosystem. It was also a privilege to meet the Director General of our own Cybersecurity Authority, Cybersecurity Authority team from Nigeria, the Ambassador of Burkina Faso in Vienna, Ghana’s Ambassador to Vienna and Ghana's Ambassador to Malaysia among other distinguished representatives, all united in our shared commitment to a safer digital world. Together, we are building stronger cooperation, deeper trust, and a more secure future for all.
