The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington swore in Roger Rogoff, a former King County Superior Court judge, at 7:40 a.m. as its choice to lead the office. The White House fired him by 8:24 a.m. Trump’s preferred candidate, Neil Floyd, has served as the top federal prosecutor in the district since October 2025. He was initially appointed interim U.S. attorney and later named first assistant after his statutory term expired in February. Senior Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., had said she would block Floyd’s confirmation if nominated, and his name was never advanced to the Senate. Under Senate tradition, home-state senators can use a “blue slip” process to signal opposition to U.S. attorney nominees, often preventing hearings in the Judiciary Committee chaired by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. The judges acted under a federal law allowing district courts to appoint an interim U.S. attorney when a vacancy continues. Trump holds constitutional authority to remove such officials. Rogoff told The Seattle Times he is preparing to sue Trump and the Justice Department to regain the position.

🚨BREAKING: Democrat-controlled Senate passes multi-billion-dollar Millionaires’ Tax With a vote of 27-22, the Washington State Senate on Monday passed Senate Bill 6346, a proposal to impose a 9.9% tax on individuals earning more than $1 million annually. Three Democrat lawmakers—Sens. Adrien Cortes (D-Battle Ground), Deb Krishnadasen (D-Gig Harbor) and Drew Hansen (D-Bainbridge Island) — joined all Republicans in voting against the measure. Supporters cast the bill as a vital step toward fixing what they call a regressive tax system and funding essential services like education and health care, while critics warned it would hammer small businesses, drive away jobs, and set the stage for broader income taxes despite voters’ repeated rejections. SB 6346—also known as the “Millionaires’ Tax”— introduced by Senate Majority Leader Jaime Pedersen (D-Capitol Hill), would start with federal adjusted gross income and make adjustments to arrive at “Washington taxable income.” It excludes long-term capital gains unless already subject to the state’s capital gains tax, adds back certain state and local taxes deducted federally, and provides a $1 million standard deduction per household—adjusted for inflation from 2030—and a $50,000 charitable deduction. The bill starts with federal adjusted gross income, currently excludes all long-term capital gains and losses initially, then adds back only net long-term capital gains subject to Washington’s capital gains tax (plus the standard and charitable deductions that reduced the taxable amount). Thus, real estate sales that qualify for exemption under the capital gains rules—such as qualified family-owned small businesses or residential property—remain untaxed, avoiding any undoing of exemptions. During the hearing on Feb. 6, it was revealed that although SB-6346 targets only individuals with at least $1 million in annual income, no current law can permanently bind future legislatures should a future legislature expand the tax to other income brackets. 🚨#BreakingNews Thurston County judge blocks law allowing state commission to decertify elected sheriffs Judge Christine Schaller halted portions of Senate Bill 5974, signed by Gov. Bob Ferguson on April 1, one day before it was set to take effect. The measure would have required sheriffs and other law enforcement leaders to maintain certification with the Criminal Justice Training Commission, with decertification automatically creating a vacancy in elected office. 🟦 JUDGE CHRISTINE SCHALLER: "The statute allows an elected sheriff to have their peace officer certificate revoked by an administrative body based upon unconstitutional language. Such a revocation under the new law would result in a vacancy of the office of sheriff with the sheriff being removed. This also allows, again, an elected official, someone chosen by the voters, to be removed in the same way as an employee of theirs, another peace officer employee, could be removed. "And again, although a sheriff could seek judicial review, that would be after a decision was made by an administrative body and the vacancy and removal would be immediate. And the decision to revoke an elected official certificate would not be by someone in an elected and or public office, which is contrary to how removal of elected officials is treated by the constitution and, as far as the court is aware, for every other elected official in the state of Washington. " This process authorizes arbitrary and discriminatory enforcement. I find that the plaintiffs have a well-grounded fear of imminent invasion of their rights based upon what they have set forth in their statements and based upon my finding as it relates to number one, because the law is set to go into effect tomorrow. "And I find that the acts complained of are either resulting in or will result in actual and substantial injury. It impacts current sheriffs, the four, who have indicated they are seeking re-election. It affects their ability to fill out a declaration of candidacy form to declare themselves as candidates for the next election cycle. "Those three factors are also considered in light of the equitable factors, including balancing the relative interests of the parties and the interests of the public. The state has properly argued that this is a law that was passed by the Washington State Legislature. The legislators are elected by the people of the State of Washington and it should be given its due weight. And I have done that. "I also have considered the interest of the public in the right to allow a free elective process as well. And the public has a significant interest in the right to a free elective process, the freedom to choose candidates, and the freedom for candidates to set forth that they want to run for political office. 🚨BREAKING: WA STATE HAS 30 DAYS TO COMPLY WITH CDL ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY STANDARDS OR LOSE $10.5 MILLION IN FEDERAL FUNDING California, Washington and New Mexico could lose millions of dollars of federal funding if they continue failing to enforce English language requirements for truckers, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said today, August 26, at a presser. On March 1, 2025, President Trump issued Executive Order 14224, “Designating English as the Official Language of The United States.” Since the new language standards took effect in March, Duffy disclosed that an investigation found that Washington state had more than 6,000 violations of safety rules during inspections but only pulled four drivers out of service for English language violations. Duffy added that states will lose millions of dollars from the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program if they don't comply with the rules within 30 days—that is roughly $10.5 million for Washington state alone. California could lose $30 million and New Mexico, $7 million in federal funds. Duffy further added that this is only Phase I as USDOT is looking at more enforcement options to penalize non-compliance. The actions by Duffy stems from the issuance of a commercial driver's licenses to Harjinder Singh, an illegal immigrant who failed multiple language tests, by the states of Washington and California. Singh later killed 3 people on the Florida Turnpike earlier in August during an illegal U-turn.

🚨BREAKING: ICE PREPARING MAJOR MASS ARREST OPERATIONS TO “FLOOD” SEATTLE AND PORTLAND, BORDER CZAR ANNOUNCES Border Czar Tom Homan outside the White House today told reports that ICE is going to “flood” sanctuary cities of Seattle and Portland with agents to arrest what he called illegal aliens who pose “safety threats.” Today's announcement comes on the same day as ICE Seattle released a statement from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) setting the record straight on the Seattle Times’ defense of Pakistani criminal illegal alien and alleged fraudster Muhammad Chaudhry. "While Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and the media attempt to paint a sob story of this career criminal, DHS is providing the facts about this criminal illegal alien’s extensive rap sheet and arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)," DHS opened in its statement. 🔽BELOW IS THE FULL STATEMENT FROM DHS DEBUNKING SEATLLE MAYOR BRUCE HARRELL'S STATEMENT ON THE ARREST OF MUHAMMAD KAHID CHAUNDHRY: Chaudhry first entered the U.S. in 1998 on B-2 visitor visa—after he lied to the U.S. government about his criminal history in Australia. His criminal history in Australia includes five counts of financial deception, possession of stolen goods, and falsifying passports. Additionally, he lied about his criminal history in Australia in order to obtain a green card in the U.S. and subsequently been denied citizenship twice —dating back to 2008, and then he applied for citizenship eight more times while continuing to lie and provide false information to immigration authorities. This fraudster not only concealed his criminal history from the U.S. government, but he also falsely claimed that he was deployed to Iraq. Department of Defense records indicate he was never deployed. Furthermore, this criminal illegal alien collected $449,459.82 in taxpayer dollars from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veteran’s Benefits Administration (VBA), according to an Inspector General’s report dated September 13, 2021. Chaudhry currently owes the United States government a negotiated payment of $81,080 for a mortgage reduction grant from the VBA according to an investigation. He has made no payments to date on the amount owed. After immigration officials determined he misrepresented his criminal history on immigration forms, he was issued a Notice to Appear by U.S. Citizenship AND Immigration Services (USCIS) in 2008. He appealed his final order of removal multiple times over the course of 17 years. 🟥DHS SPOKESMAN: “Sanctuary politician Bruce Harrell and the media are peddling a FALSE sob story on this serial fraudster. Following lies about his military service, he owes the U.S. taxpayers more than $81,000. President Trump and Secretary Noem’s message is clear: criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the United States. Why do sanctuary politicians and the media continue to peddle sob stories of criminal illegals and smear our brave ICE law enforcement officers? Make no mistake, these types of lies are contributing to our ICE law enforcement officers facing a 1000% increase in assaults against them.” On August 21, 2025, ICE arrested Muhammad Zahid Chaudhry in close coordination with USCIS. Chaudhry appeared at a USCIS appointment in Tukwila, Washington and was apprehended after law enforcement determined he was in violation of federal immigration law and had a final order of removal by an immigration judge. He has since been placed into removal proceedings.

🚨Lynnwood Times reporting at a Tesla Takedown Rally today at the Tesla Dealership located at 17731 Pacific Hwy (HWY 99) in Lynnwood. Over 400 Protesters occupied both sides of the street from the 176th to 179th blocks of HWY 99. In the sea of anti-Trump and anti-Elon demonstrators were an island of three pro-Tesla supporters. They support DOGE and the pro-climate purposes for driving Tesla vehicles. Those we spoke to protesting in the Tesla Takedown Rally shared with the Lynnwood Times that they don't trust DOGE and believe Trump is destroying America. When asked specifically what they don't trust about DOGE or how Trump is destroying America their grievances centered around the were the following themes: 1. DOGE is not presenting any evidence of their claims of fraud to the American people and Congress 2. Lack of oversight of DOGE and Elon Musk by Congress 3. Distrust with the FBI and DOJ because these departments are being led by Trump appointees 4. Disappointment in US foreign policy relating to Canada, Panama, Greenland, Ukraine, and the European Union 5. DOGE actions related to Medicaid 6. DOGE actions related to the Dept of Education 7. DOGE actions related to Social Security (a lot were afraid that DOGE may be taking Social Security benefits away from eligible people) 8. Trump administration's immigration enforcement believing it to be a means that would lead to the normalization of removing political dissidents akin to 1930's Germany The Lynnwood Times observed protesters waving US, Canadian, and Ukrainian flags. Local business owners or store managers on the wings of the Tesla dealership (from retail to restaurants) we spoke with all said that the protestors can protest but their actions were blocking access to their business and/or customers were complaining about the lack of parking spaces to patronize the store. After the protest a vast majority of the protesters left orderly in their vehicles, but we did not observe any of them visiting any of the adjacent restaurants. All-in-all, those we spoke with were able to articulate why they support the Tesla Takedown movement and believe it is growing.

🚨Rep. Lilian Ortiz-Self (D-Mukilteo) at 21st Legislative District Town Hall on March 15, 2025, shares why she NOW supports changes to the Parental Bill of Rights the Washington State Senate unanimously passed, 49-0, and the State House, 82-15. Rep. Ortiz-Self voted for the initiative, and it was signed by Gov. Jay Inslee in 2024. Ortiz-Self SUPPORTS removing notification to parents if their child is offered medical services, a school arranges for medical treatment, or if their child receives gender affirming care. Ortiz-Self implied at the Town Hall that the Parental Bill of Rights is NOW an anti-trans bill that needs to be changed.
