Mullah Zaeef's Deception and the revelation of General Ehsan- too little too late? A recent video, posted by veteran journalist Tahir Khan sahab, has finally shed light on one of the most controversial diplomatic incidents of the post-9/11 era. The footage features a long-awaited statement from General Ehsan, the former Director-General of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), offering his first public account regarding the disposition of former Taliban Ambassador Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef. General Ehsan's remarks constitute a bombshell disclosure, fundamentally challenging the established narrative. ▪️He revealed that Mullah Zaeef, while enjoying sanctuary in Pakistan, became a major source of friction for the Pakistani govt. ▪️For months - not for days or hours, but months, Pakistani officials, employed a mix of soft diplomacy and extreme persistence, trying to resolve the issue. As Pakistan withdrew their recognition of TTA govt, so legally, technically and ethically it was Zaeef's place to be and he has to vacate the premises of embassy. ▪️The General claims that Pakistani authorities repeatedly implored Zaeef, even to the point of a humiliating display of deference, to simply vacate his embassy residence and assume a low-profile existence as a normal Afghan expatriate anywhere within Pakistan’s territory. ▪️Zaeef, however, was in non-compliance. Instead of accepting the state’s proposal, he continuously engaged with the international press, effectively using his position to conduct a media campaign that severely embarrassed and vexed the Pakistani government. ▪️This protracted standoff ultimately led to a resolution that contradicts the pervasive narrative of betrayal. The former DG ISI definitively stated that Pakistan's final action was to escort Zaeef to the Torkham border crossing, where he was formally handed over to the then existing Afghan authorities. ▪️General Ehsan's key takeaway is unambiguous: Pakistan never carried out a rendition of Mullah Zaeef to the United States. ▪️This refutes the long-held claim of a Pakistani betrayal, propagated widely by Zaeef and his sympathetic elements. ▪️Adding to the complexity, the book detailing Zaeef’s version of events was reportedly first published in India before achieving wider global circulation. ▪️It is noted that Zaeef's credibility is suspect, as he was reportedly not even fully accepted by the Afghan Taliban upon his eventual return to Afghanistan, yet his operational narrative continues to be leveraged by such entities and certain domestic political and media constituencies to undermine Pakistan's state standing and stature. ▪️ How there is now a grievance from General Ehsan and the Pakistani officialdom. If this wasn't a strategic communication failure, then what was? Given that the factual matrix of the case was known for nearly a quarter of a century, why was the official counter-narrative wasn't thrown out? ▪️This prolonged information vacuum allowed a false story to be successfully weaponized, contributing to the radicalization of youth and the fomenting of insurgency. This is on us - that we failed to reveal such details and now paying the price or established falsehood as a gospel of truth.

You can argue about the capacity or Sharifs and Co. But the way Pakistan has emerged as a star of international arena post Marka e Haq is something I had not witness in my life time. It's not about Sharifs or Zardaris or Asims, it's about Pakistan, the country we all love with the core of our heart. On diplomatic front - this is the story we all wanted to witness, this is the tale we all wanted to live in. It's a lesson for all of us - you show courage, resolve, resilience and power, the world will start falling in place for you. insha'Allah. May Allah keep our flag high and make our country prosperous and peaceful and above all give us more strength to deliver what needs to be delivered. Aameen

A discussion with the author of 'Revisiting the Durand Line' Dr Lutfur Rehman belongs to Swat. A brilliant and life long researcher on issues related to Pakistan's Pashtoon belt and in particular on Pak-Afghan issues. He authored this brilliant book where he spent almost 15 years to compile and finalize his research work. How did he find 18th century documents, how did he manage to find out those five maps which were agreed upon and much more was collected by him. I sat with him about an year ago for the channel Pakistan Now. In the wake of recent debate between Pakistan and Afghanistan border issues - I thought to start sharing his discussion points here in a series. Today I'm posting it's part - 1: Why did he choose this subject in particular? What was the idea behind this book? It's time that the reseachers, politicians and even military establishment start reading and understanding about this subject, so that they may equip and prepare themselves against the continuous hammering of a lie, which has been spoken so many times, that people started to believe in it as a truth.

Behind the façade of v i c t i m h o o d lies a strategy. M i l i t a n t s are once again h i d i n g in population, f i r e from c r o w d e d streets, and t r a i n under civilian cover. The innocents pay the price. Yet some of us claim they are been wrongly targeted.

You have one rogue nation with nukes (Pakistan) - you don't want a second one (Iran) - Israeli Ambassador to his Indian minion Arnab Goswami. The body language and tone of the ambassador was like he was scolding Arnab, that you Indians couldn't do one job properly and couldn't stop Pakistan from becoming a nuclear state. Now look where does it hurt us. This is yet another clear indication of how Israeli strategic mindset views Pakistan in the larger calculus of their game plan. Just in last two weeks, on multiple occasions Israelis have shown overt concerns with a threatening tone towards Pakistan. From Nathanyahu to Israel's former PM Naftali Bennet addressing the Americans Jews in Jerusalem to this ambassador to India - everyone pointed out one country - Pakistan. Yet there is a brigade of trolls and thier elders with heavy turbans sitting in Afghanistan, with an overt alliance to Hindutva Zionists, have the audacity, where they shamelessly try to equate Pakistan with the same Zionist state, who on one hand is viewing Pakistan as a threat and as a potential future target and on the other hand is a strategic partner to Hindutva zealots in our east - who is now a close ally and friend of this same so called emirati group in Afghanistan. Imagine getting condolence messages from Bollywood stars, who couldn't date to utter a word against their 'father land'. May Allah help Pakistan, safe it from the conspiracies of the enemies in the east and it's Zionist partner and expose their nexus with this fitna in our west for the rest of the Muslim world and give Pakistan the required strength to upset their game plan. Aameen.

The Maestro Javed Jabbar Sahab, answered the pettiness of Javed Akhtar long time ago. Telling us all about the rationale of Pakistan and the basis of our two nation ideology. This is now more understandable in the current context of recent developments in Bangladesh. Perhaps this is why Javed Akhtar is unable to shake this off from his conscience and is on a repeat of spweing hatred and cringe through his babblings.

While talking to Al Jazeera, in a way FM Ishaq Dar already foreshadowed was about to come. When anchor asked, where does nuclear Pakistan stand? FM was clear: Nuclear Pakistan as member of the Ummah, will discharge it's duty. Again - it doesn't mean that Pakistan is expanding it's nuclear umbrella and changing it's nuclear doctrine. But Pakistan being a strategic defence partner and shield will have it's implications on regional security paradigm.

It was Pharaoh who brought tactic to kill children of his enemies. First he killed them to stop the birth of Musa a.s & afterwards killed the children of those who believed in the msg of Musa a.s. Here is NAK explaining this: Watch & remember whose pathway TTP/ISKP is following.
