We've been on the road for 6hrs from Baringo to Maralal (Samburu), traversing from Loruk to Maralal via Churo on 143km of rough road to get President Maraga to Mashinani. This side of the country, specifically in Baringo, Tiaty Constituency, there's absolutely no development. Had we curbed theft of public resources, such roads would have been tarmaced already.

We were arrested by plainclothes police officers and taken to Lang’ata Police Station. The officers later informed us that CJ Maraga, being a senior citizen, was free to leave. But he refused. Instead of securing his own freedom, he chose to stand in solidarity with those he had been arrested alongside. He made it clear that he would only leave once everyone else was released. If that did not happen, he was prepared to spend the night in the cells with us. That moment spoke volumes about his character. True leadership is not about privilege or personal comfort—it is about standing with your people, especially in difficult times. A great leader in my books.
