18 YEARS AGO TODAY: An EF-2 tornado strikes downtown Atlanta in the middle of the SEC Quarterfinal matchup between Alabama and Mississippi State. The game was delayed, though eventually completed, after the top of the Georgia Dome swayed amidst the severe weather & insulation rained down into the arena. The Bulldogs would go on to beat Bama in OT. After a hole was discovered in the roof of the Georgia Dome, the remainder of the Tournament was moved to Georgia Tech's Alexander Memorial Coliseum.
