We stand for peaceful cohabitation & development in the Eastern DRC
Videos

#DRCongo #Minembwe At the sidelines of the Feb. 10th’ hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Africa Subcommittee House Foreign Affairs Committee Majority, Mahoro Peace Association (MPA) met in person and individually with key Subcommittee members, voicing deepest concerns over DRC government bombings using fighters and drones on the vulnerable Banyamulenge minority in Minembwe’s highlands, causing unimaginable suffering, displacement, and loss of life. We also highlighted the devastating humanitarian blockade imposed by DRC forces, Burundian troops, and allied militias, which has cut off food, medicine, and basic supplies, leading to deliberate starvation and a silent genocide against the Tutsi minority. An urgent humanitarian corridor is desperately needed to deliver life-saving aid and prevent further catastrophe. Though absent from the Washington accords, we briefed the subcommittee on their plight. As the chairman noted the Kisangani airport bombing, it was a poignant moment to address similar atrocities in Minembwe. Members pledged follow-up on these critical issues, including the blockade and aid access. A memo was submitted prior to amplify these urgent cries for justice. Watch the video for this emotional testimony. We demand an immediate end to the violence, lifting of the blockade, establishment of humanitarian corridors, accountability, and aid for affected civilians. #DRCongo #FARDC The remarks made by General Ekenge, spokesperson for the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC), in this interview, are extremely dangerous and wholly unacceptable. Dehumanizing an ethnic group, warning against intermarriage, and promoting conspiracy theories rooted in so-called “racial superiority” are not harmless words, they are classic markers of genocidal rhetoric. History teaches us a painful lesson: when officials speak this way, violence often follows. These statements do not emerge in isolation. They echo and reinforce what DRC’s Minister of Communication, Patrick Muyaya has described as “Poison Rwandais”, a narrative now deliberately fused with ethnic hatred to portray Congolese Tutsi/Banyamulenge as an internal enemy that must be eliminated from national life. This dangerous fusion is a calculated attempt to mobilize the population against a specific community. We have seen this pattern before. 1. In Rwanda, authorities depicted Tutsis as deceitful and existential threats, laying the groundwork for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. 2. In Nazi Germany, officials warned against Jews “polluting” society through marriage, a prelude to exclusion, persecution, and mass murder. Similar rhetoric preceded atrocities in the Balkans and in Myanmar. Genocide does not begin with machetes or guns, it begins with words. This is not political discourse. It is not patriotism. It is an unmistakable warning sign. We call on: •The Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo to publicly condemn these statements and hold those responsible accountable. •Regional and international bodies, including the African Union, United Nations, and human rights mechanisms, to urgently investigate and address incitement to ethnic violence in the DRC. •Civil society, faith leaders, media, and the Congolese diaspora to reject hate speech and stand firmly against the dehumanization of any community. Silence in the face of incitement is complicity. This rhetoric must be stopped now before it leads to irreversible harm. Today, US residents and members of the #Banyamulenge, #Tutsi, and #Hema gathered in Washington, DC, protesting against the Congolese government and asking the Trump administration to step in and help their people in the Democratic Republic of Congo from being exterminated in their homeland. The Tshisekedi regime must stop using its drones and other military aircraft to indiscriminately bomb civilians in #Minembwe.
