At this moment, our peaceful sit-in in Quetta, Balochistan, is facing a brutal and unjustified crackdown by state security forces. Dozens of our companions, including women, have been arrested, and their whereabouts remain unknown. The security forces are resorting to indiscriminate firing and heavy tear gas shelling, creating a suffocating atmosphere that has severely affected the health of many peaceful protesters, including elderly individuals and children present at the demonstration. Additionally, a complete communication blackout has been imposed in Quetta, with mobile networks and internet access deliberately cut off to prevent information from reaching the outside world. Security forces have also launched raids in nearby areas, arbitrarily arresting more activists and intimidating families. This violent suppression of peaceful dissent is a blatant violation of fundamental human rights. I urge all advocates of justice, human rights organizations, and the international community to take immediate notice of this brutality and hold the responsible authorities accountable. #StopBalochGenocide

Dear Baloch Nation and the World, I, along with thousands of others, am still in Gwadar, with the internet shut down, roads blocked, and the city isolated with a complete media censorship imposed. Controlled media is continuously used to portray us as violent and unwilling to negotiate. From day one, we have been peaceful despite the state's brutal crackdown. Our national gathering on July 28 was turned into a sit-in due to the state's actions. State actions included blocking roads and highways, shutting down the internet, arresting peaceful protesters, and firing direct gunshots at them. Our clear, legitimate demands to create an environment of talks are: A. Registering FIRs against forces that used violence in Mastung, Gwadar, Nushki, Turbat, Talar and other parts of Balochistan by killing and injuring peaceful protesters. B. Lifting the blockade/curfew in Gwadar and other parts of Balochistan. State shall guarantee no further use of force or violence by the state security forces will occur. C. Stopping the harassment and arrest of BYC workers, supporters, and residents of Gwadar. Govt should admit it used force to crush a peaceful movement. D. Releasing all those arrested before, during, and after our national gathering. Bogus FIRS registered must be quashed. E. Compensate the public for financial damages caused by state military and intelligence agencies during the Baloch National Gathering by breaking into homes, vandalising property, burning vehicles and confiscating personal belongings. Instead of meeting our demands, the state is using more force, escalating the situation to find reasons to arrest me, my colleagues, and BYC leadership. The rest of the BYC leadership and I are at great risk and our lives are in serious danger. Now, all government machinery is being used to legitimize a crackdown on us, putting us at greater risk. The situation resembles the events during Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti's time, where negotiation was claimed, but force was used. This is being repeated now. We call on rights groups, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Amnesty International South Asia, Regional Office, Front Line Defenders, Human Rights Watch, Mary Lawlor, United Nations Pakistan - اقوام متحدہ پاکستان, EUPakistan, and Riina Kionka to intervene and stop this political misadventure by the state of Pakistan. Once again, Pakistan’s intelligence agencies, the Sindh police, and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government have resorted to violence, arresting Deputy Organizer of BYC Lala Wahab Baloch along with other protesters in Karachi to suppress a peaceful demonstration against enforced disappearances organized by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). Despite the state's attempts to hinder the International Oppressed Peoples Conference since last night, taking away equipment and blocking participants, we've successfully conducted our conference. The state confiscated speakers, chairs, tables, and other items, and this morning, many of our guests were prevented from joining, with roads blocked and the sit-in surrounded by barbed wire. However, we persevered, holding the conference without the necessary resources. This, I believe, is our victory. We stand firm against oppression and brutality, determined to endure until the end of the Baloch genocide. Today, I was scheduled to travel to New York to attend TIME Magazine's gala, where I was invited alongside other leaders named as TIME’s Most Influential Emerging Leaders of the Year. However, I was unjustly stopped at Karachi International Airport with no legal or valid given reason, which is a clear violation of my fundamental right to freedom of movement. This action reflects the growing fear and insecurity of the state toward Baloch voices. There was no legitimate purpose for preventing my travel, except to silence Baloch voices from being heard internationally, control the flow of information about the situation in Balochistan, and conceal the decades-long human rights abuses occurring in Balochistan. By denying me the right to travel, the Pakistani government seeks to prevent me from exercising my freedom of expression and rights to movement. This arbitrary travel ban is part of the increasing crackdown on Baloch human rights defenders and activists. I will fight back against this unjust restriction on my rights to movement.

Dozens of our companions, including women, have been arrested, and their whereabouts remain unknown. From the inception of our movement, our demands have been clear: an end to all forms of human rights violations in Balochistan and the cessation of the Baloch genocide. We've presented these demands to the state through the media. Our stance has remained clear from the beginning – we seek negotiations with the state regarding these demands. Sadly, the world witnesses the continuous irresponsibility and stubbornness of the state, where peaceful protestors endure torture and arrests, and media trials are conducted against this peaceful movement. Today, the Prime Minister of Pakistan declared victims of enforced disappearances as terrorists, insulting victim families and addressing peaceful political activists in a threatening tone.
