670 TONNES. 🤯 That’s how much waste we managed to clear today. To put it into perspective, that’s roughly the weight of 450–500 cars. And we’re not done yet. Our teams will be back on the ground tomorrow, and in shaa Allah, we’re hoping to finish clearing the remaining waste by the end of the day. A huge thank you to everyone who came out, helped, supported and played their part. This is what community clean ups are all about, turning words into action. 💪 Let’s keep working together to keep Hulhumalé clean. ❤️ #MadhirinRakka #WithHDC #MageyHulhumalè

Good morning from Rasmalè There’s been some false information circulating that work at Rasmalè has stopped which is completely untrue. To clear the doubts, we came here ourselves to see the progress. 👉 Here’s the update: •So far, 129 hectares of land have already been reclaimed. •For comparison, this is almost the size of Hulhumalé Phase 1. •The project will reclaim a total of 1,009 hectares of land. Once complete, Rasmalè will become the first eco-city in the Maldives a model for sustainable living and development. Also the total solution for the housing crisis Maldives is facing right now.

This is the lowest level of professionalism, ethics and human decency. In today’s MCC public meeting, Councillor Gaalib appears to have received a text, most probably from Mayor Azim, instructing him to secretly switch off Councillor Samah’s mic while he was looking away, simply because they couldn’t tolerate his remarks criticizing the incompetence of their government. Samah continued speaking, unaware that his mic had been cut off, until someone from the MCC broadcasting control room alerted him. What followed was even more disgraceful. MDP councillors mocked and laughed at their colleague while shamelessly blaming Samah for switching off the mic by himself. Being the moderator of the council meeting Mayor Azim did the same, despite apparently knowing that Gaalib had switched off the mic. Such blatant disrespect has no place in the MCC. The LGA must investigate this gross ethical misconduct and suspend Gaalib under the law to protect the dignity of the Council and the sanctity of the Decentralisation Act. No human deserves to be treated this way, least of all by their own colleagues. Is this really the standard of conduct the public should expect from a party and the running mate of a potential presidential candidate seeking to win in 2028?

Some are trying to claim that the government had nothing to do with bringing PayPal to the Maldives. That claim ignores nearly 2 years of documented work. President Dr. Muizzu pledged in his 2023 manifesto to establish a Creator Economy and bring global payment platforms such as PayPal to the Maldives. What followed was a sustained effort: 📌 June 2024 – The Government formally contacted PayPal CEO Alex Chriss, requesting support to enable PayPal withdrawal services in the Maldives. 📌 July 2024 – PayPal discussions were elevated through high-level engagements with U.S. officials during the TIFA mission. 📌 August 2024 – Minister Mohamed Saeed met PayPal Global Leadership and the Maldives submitted its formal proposal and country brief. 📌 September 2024 to May 2025 – Extensive regulatory, technical, compliance, and stakeholder engagement work was carried out to meet international requirements. 📌 June 2025 – PayPal confirmed its implementation roadmap and commercial negotiations with a local partner. 📌 July 2025 – Ooredoo Maldives was confirmed as PayPal's local implementation partner. 📌 August to October 2025 – AML, due diligence, compliance, and operational requirements were completed to prepare for launch. 📌 October 2025 – The Government, Ooredoo, and PayPal finalized launch plans and officially announced PayPal services for the Maldives. 📌 February to May 2026 – Final testing, due diligence, and operational readiness activities were completed. 📌 15 June 2026 – PayPal services officially launched in the Maldives. PayPal did not arrive by coincidence. It was the result of a manifesto pledge, diplomatic engagement, regulatory reform, technical coordination, and persistent effort over 2 and half years. Many said it couldn't be done. Today, Maldivian creators, freelancers, artists, entrepreneurs, and young people can receive payments from around the world because a promise was made and delivered.

I remember this day so clearly. These kids were there to get a glimpse of the President, and I casually asked them what they wanted most. Without hesitation, they said they wanted a proper futsal court. I encouraged them to tell the President themselves. At first, they were shy and hesitant, but they gathered the courage to speak up. They were incredibly excited that day, and now, seeing their wish become a reality, I’m sure they are even happier.

In the conversation between Fayyaz Ismail and the current First Lady, Madam Sajidha, you can clearly hear her stressing the importance of these regulations, which were ultimately dismissed. So there you have it.

There should be a line, even in politics. Dragging the President’s minor children into political fights is absolutely disgusting. If the opposition has issues with the government, they should criticize the policies , not attack innocent kids. But as usual, MDP shows they have no shame and no morals. Truly a disgusting bunch.
