This is what a GLOF looks like in motion: a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood, sometimes called a Jökulhlaup (Icelandic for "glacier run"). Basically: meltwater builds up in a basin trapped against or beneath a glacier. Eventually the ice dam gives way, and all that pent-up water rushes out; sometimes over the course of a day or more. At Columbia Glacier, this happens almost like clockwork, roughly once a year, with the lake taking about a day and a half to fully drain. No roads, no homes in the path; so it mostly happens quietly, without anyone downstream even noticing. Compare that to Juneau, where GLOFs along the Mendenhall River actually threaten homes and residents in the valley each year. Serious flood-mitigation work has gone into protecting the community there. Watching that volume of water suddenly break free from under a glacier is still humbling. Glaciers aren't the frozen, unmoving things people picture. They're alive, shifting, releasing; a reminder that even "solid" landscapes are anything but static. Prayers for Nepal #Nepal #FloodVideo

Dear media outlets, The Indian Express NDTV A few of you were very quick to run headlines claiming that Sadhguru’s advice made actor Rajesh Kumar quit acting, take up farming and eventually land in ₹2 crore debt. Great headline. Great for clicks. Except there’s a small problem; Rajesh Kumar himself has now come out and explained what actually happened. Yes, he was inspired by Sadhguru’s views on agriculture. Yes, those conversations influenced him. But Rajesh has clearly said that taking up farming was his own decision. He wanted to experience farming himself and understand what farmers actually go through. And the debt didn’t magically appear because someone told him to farm. There were floods, COVID, crop and plantation losses, and problems with finding groundwater. There’s another detail that conveniently disappeared from some of these headlines: Rajesh has already cleared most of that debt. He had said earlier this year that only around 10–15% was left. So why reduce the entire story to “Sadhguru’s advice = ₹2 crore debt”? That isn’t reporting. That’s taking a complicated story, stripping away the context and turning it into a convenient headline. Nobody is asking you to praise Sadhguru. Criticise him if you want. Ask tough questions. That’s what journalism is supposed to do. But when the person at the centre of your story comes forward and says, essentially, “That’s not the whole story,” you have a responsibility to report that too. So here’s a simple question: Will you now publish the clarification with the same prominence as the original story? And will you correct the misleading impression and apologise to your readers, and to Sadhguru ? Or was the truth only interesting until it stopped being useful for the headline? Journalism is about telling the story. Not manufacturing one.

One question from the Court and the entire case collapsed. Wrote father’s name Deepak Das first, then changed to Subir Das. Court asked ; what is your real father’s name? Case withdrawn silently. This is the guy who questions everyone else’s degree and credentials, but has an identity crisis in his own legal documents. Posh properties, expensive lifestyle, back-to-back foreign trips- funding is coming from where?

आख़िरकार अदालत को हस्तक्षेप करना पड़ा .. कोर्ट को टांग घुसानी ही पड़ी .. तब आया है काबू में .. भाईपो .. पश्चिम बंगाल की राजनीति में आज फिर हलचल तेज हो गई, जब अभिषेक बनर्जी CID दफ़्तर, कोलकाता पहुँचे .. मामला कोई छोटा-मोटा नहीं, बल्कि कथित signature forgery से जुड़ा है .. जिस पर कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट ने खुद संज्ञान लेते हुए उन्हें CID के सामने पेश होने का आदेश दिया था .. माहौल खराब होने से पहले हो कोर्ट ने अक्लमंदी दिखा दी ..😍

शुभेन्दु अधिकारी जो ठान लेते हैं वो करके छोड़ते हैं। इस वीडियो में दो भाग हैं। पहले भाग में अभिषेक बनर्जी शुभेन्दु अधिकारी को संबोधित करते हुए कह रहा है कि "एक तो जोकर जैसा चेहरा है, पर बातें बड़ी-बड़ी, कि तुझे देख लूँगा, ये कर दूँगा, वो कर दूँगा।" फिर ऊँची आवाज में अभिषेक, शुभेन्दु को धमकी देता है कि "जा, अपने बा'प को बोल दे! तेरे घर से पाँच किलोमीटर की दूरी पर खड़ा हूँ। जो उखाड़ना है उखाड़ ले। आ! आ! है हिम्मत! अगर है हिम्मत तो आ! मैं तेरे मेदिनीपुर में आ के तुझे चैलेंज कर रहा हूँ। आ, अगर है हिम्मत! औकात देखी है अपनी? चार आने का इलायची दाना, और चाहिए कैश मेमो!" इस पर शुभेन्दु अधिकारी क्या कहते हैं वो सुनिये। कहते हैं, "जंगल के जानवर को अगर चिड़ियाघर में लाकर रख दिया जाये, तो वो जानवर सभ्य नहीं हो जाता, जानवर ही रहता है। हम मेदिनीपुर वासी हैं। आप गाँव के पान्ता भात खाने वाले लोगों का अपमान करेंगे?" फिर शुभेन्दु ममता बनर्जी को संबोधित करते हुए कहते हैं: "आप दीदी से दीदी माँ (नानी) बन सकती थीं। पर यदि नंदीग्राम नहीं होता तो आप कभी मुख्यमंत्री नहीं बन सकती थीं। अब आगे आपका भविष्य मैं तय करूँगा। मेरे नेता नरेन्द्र मोदी हैं। मुझे मेरे अभिभावक अमित शाह का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त है। मैं उन लोगों का शिष्य हूँ। जब सी.पी.एम. का राजनीतिक वर्चस्व अपने चरम पर था, तब मैंने सी.पी.एम. के नेता लक्ष्मण सेठ को एक लाख तिहत्तर हजार वोटों से हराया था। ममता बनर्जी को जिस समय बंगाल में 211 सीटें मिली थीं उस समय मैंने उन्हें 1956 वोटों से हराया था। मैं अब आपको प्राक्तन मुख्यमंत्री (भूतपूर्व।मुख्यमंत्री) बनाऊँगा, ये मेरा आपसे वादा है। मैंने केश्टो (अनुब्रत मंडल) को बोला था, केश्टो जेल गया। बालू (ज्योतिप्रिय मल्लिक) को बोला था, बालू जेल गया। शाहजहाँ शेख ने कहा था कि वो मेरी खाल-च'मड़ी उता'र लेगा, पर हम उसकी खाल-चम'ड़ी जेल में उ'तार रहे हैं। आज मैं कुमारजाना की मिट्टी से कह के जा रहा हूँ, विराज बाबू की मिट्टी से कह के जा रहा हूँ, कि आपके भतीजे (अभिषेक) को भी जे'ल में डालूँगा, जे'ल में डालूँगा, जेल में डा'लूँगा! और आपका आने वाला समय कालीघाट मंदिर के सामने बैठ कर कटेगा। वादा कर के जा रहा हूँ आपसे।" 🔥🔥🔥
