SIX! Yesterday a handpicked audience in Bengaluru were given a sneak preview of the 6th Cafe of ARAKU Coffee India arakucoffee making the scores level - 3 in Paris and 3 in India. Bengaluru has now 2. This one in Commissariat Road on way to the Garuda Mall. But the occasion was a landmark in Coffee history in India. We unveiled or rather unboxed the first of only 5 NANOLOT (just 84 packs) at a RECORD ₹10,000/- per KG - highest ever for ARABICA. Over USD 100 per KG is a statement that ARAKU Coffee curated by the tribal farmers and Naandi Foundation have reached a record that it deserved. Life Trustee of Naandi Foundation and Director of ARAKU Coffee the renowned kris gopalakrishnan unboxed the first pack to be bought by coffee aficionado and Bangalore’s young Turk unicorn creator Ananth Narayanan and boy! Soon after we sold in an hour 72 more packs online. Indian Coffee Consumers have raised the bar and saluted the hard work of the tribal farmers. Thank you🙏 Gratitude also to the special dignitaries who came to honour the 3 tribal farmers and cheer all of us for this amazing impact project - I call out my friend and supporter for years, Muriel Penicaud Muriel Pénicaud the former Labour Minister of France 🇫🇷 in President Emmanuel Macron Cabinet, Marc Lamy the Consul General of France 🇫🇷 in Bengaluru Consulate General of France in Bangalore 🇫🇷 🇪🇺 (France is a special partner where we launched arakucoffee as retail first in March 2017) and Hilary McGeachy Aus Consulate Bengaluru to whose nation we export Araku Coffee. It was a historic momentous event. My eyes are swelling with gratitude 🙏 as I type these words. I urge Bengaluru to keep giving us the love we got and visit the new cafe designed by our global brand architect Jorge Zapata from New York. The “Apple Cafe” of India is getting better with each store.

It was a very very special evening hosted by anand mahindra in the Gateway Building, Colaba, Mumbai for select media representatives who have spent most of their careers giving voice to women’s and children’s issues. The occasion was the launch of “May A Million Buds Bloom” a coffee table format book by Nitya Manoj Kumar comprising over 100 photographs and an essay which was her ‘impact assessment’ of Project nanhikali which completed 30 years impacting over 850,000 girls across 14 states of India. After the book was unveiled, an intimate salon-like meeting was presided by Anand Mahindra. The record (nearly 100%) turnout of senior writers and editors invited got into a discussion on not just applauding the work and the book, but delved into ways to unlock the potential of girls of India. It was rare to see the intense participation and positive energy in the room and the quest for learning and replication of all good practices going on in India. It was unanimous that holistic education including sports (#ToofaanGames) was a key factor just as the role of stake holders like fathers of daughters that the book captured eloquently in pictures. For me it was a PFFD Moment : Proud Father For Daughter moment 🙏 The evening also marked 20 years of the partnership between K.C. Mahindra Education Trust and Naandi Foundation in managing the Project Nanhi Kali together. The very next day the media responded by amplifying the voices and work. I have pasted a few links below. More columns to follow in the coming days. Watch this space.
