#10YearsOfMKMobile #MKMobile 14 Days until 10th Anniversary… Mortal Kombat Mobile’s forty-second major update (4.1.0) went live on December 7, 2022, bringing two new characters, yet another event tower, and the game’s second Kombat Pass character. #MK11LiuKang became the 13th MK11 character to join the roster, and was an immediate game changer with his passive preventing evasions for both him and his teammates on tag-in. The #WhiteLotusTower event gave players finishing the Fatal tower a shot at possibly pulling a copy of Klassic Movie Raiden along with a chance for Fujin’s Brutality or Erron Black’s Friendship Epics. The Resilience modifier had bosses escaping Snares and recovering from being Crippled to drop devastating Special Attacks, while players were also losing all power on tag-in thanks to God’s Helper Kitsune. Lastly #LizardJade emerged as the newest Gold fighter, completing the Lizard team. Between her debuff reflection and Team Thrill buffing her attacks to do additional stacking damage to ALL opponents, she is a destructive powerhouse of a character.

#10YearsOfMKMobile #MKMobile 13 Days until 10th Anniversary… In celebration of the 8th Anniversary of Mortal Kombat Mobile, the game’s forty-third major update (4.2) arrived on March 29, 2023. #KlassicMovieJohnnyCage was the newest Diamond fighter to be added to the roster, and like his counterpart Klassic Movie Raiden featured additional special moves. However, Johnny being Johnny he took it to a whole other level with the addition of a 4th special button allowing for the input of various swipe and tap combinations to trigger them. The #ActionMovieTower event towers ran this update and were the last consecutive new tower event to be featured in MKM. Though players didn’t know it, a new game mode was slated for the next update. The #ActionMovieTower event was also notable in that it was the first since the #BlackDragonTower in 2020 to actually feature the update’s newest fighter as a possible reward. Epics from #TheJoker’s Brutality and #JohnnyCage’s Friendship sets were up for grabs as random potential rewards for players completing the Fatal Tower. The pace of #KombatPass events increased with #DarkRaiden featured as Season 3’s fighter and #AftershockTremor as Season 4’s. The trend of new Challenges finally being added to the game also continued with #KlassicJade’s Challenge arriving this update. Full patch notes HERE:

#10YearsOfMKMobile #MKMobile 32 Days until 10th Anniversary… Mortal Kombat X Mobile received its twentieth major update on September 10, 2018. This update brought two new Challenge characters in #RoninTakeda and #RoninKitana. Paired with their predecessor #RoninKenshi, the three together created another full team in #MKXMobile—after the Kold War and Triborg teams—that provided complete team synergies only to that team’s characters. The emergence of the Ronin team, coupled with that of the Kombat Cup team earlier that same summer, marked a major shift in the meta towards teams and team specific combinations of kards. This trend would become more pronounced in the update that followed and would soon completely redefine the game. A new Equipment piece, Shadow Sash, was also introduced as a Faction Wars Store exclusive.

#10YearsOfMKMobile #MKMobile 40 Days until 10th Anniversary… Mortal Kombat X Mobile’s twelfth major update on April 24, 2017 celebrated the game’s second anniversary with the release of 3 new Challenge characters as well as one of the greatest Diamonds of all time. #ScourgeBaraka was a surprise treat for players as Baraka had not been a playable character in MKX. His additional combo enders per Outworld teammate along with his stacking Bleed DoTs were unique in the game at the time. #TreacherousTanya further introduced new dynamics and strategy with her ability to break equipment on unblocked special attacks as well as her team power drain resistance. #AssassinJade brought to mobile another fan favorite absent from MKX’s console release. She proved an especially deadly anniversary addition by not only evading special attacks, but also punishing them with a crippling counterattack. Players encountering her equipped with her Bojutsu Staff were quick to find out that she could wipe entire teams unless battled with only basic attacks and X-Rays. The final new anniversary kombatant, arriving as an Elite Pack exclusive, was #KlassicLiuKang. The first character to have full DoT immunity in addition to healing from Fire DoT, he acted as an immediate foil to prevalent DoT teams. Crippling opponents with every tag-in and laying waste to enemies with his SP2 spinning back fists, the Champion of Mortal Kombat more than lived up to his fearsome reputation with this iteration.

#10YearsOfMKMobile #MKMobile 35 Days until 10th Anniversary… Mortal Kombat X Mobile celebrated its third anniversary with its seventeenth major update on May 24, 2018. This update marked a major shift in the game with maximum character kard fusions being increased from F7 to FX and max levels at max fusion then increased from 50 to 60. To balance out the higher max fusion limit, the Elite Pack Pro was released, making Diamond kards the easiest they have ever been to acquire from Souls packs in the history of #MKMobile. This pack offered players an astounding 50% chance for a Diamond kard for just 500 Souls. A secret stage also appeared under the full moon: The Pit was featured as a special new arena where players could fight Boss #KlassicReptile to earn a copy of his Diamond kard after kollecting a sufficient number of his eyes and summoning his tower in Quest Mode. #ShaolinFistKungLao from MK9 became the game’s next challenge character, while #KlassicJaxBriggs joined the roster by way of the Elite Pack/Elite Pack Pro. Shao Kahn’s Helmet was the main draw of the new Diamond Equipment Pack and Sindel’s Signet Ring was added to the Faction Wars Store.

#10YearsOfMKMobile #MKMobile 34 Days until 10th Anniversary… One day after the 21st FIFA World Cup began in Russia, Mortal Kombat X Mobile released its eighteenth major update with a special soccer theme on June 15, 2018. The update featured two new Challenge characters, #KombatCupJohnnyCage and #KombatCupSonyaBlade. A video of Senior Game Designer Mick Pack (Mick Pack) shared a sweepstakes put on by NetherRealm Studios (NetherRealm) to promote the update, taking place from the end of June through to July 15th with winners being announced on July 31st. The grand prize was a one of a kind, handmade, all leather, 1950’s era T-panel style soccer ball, decorated with NetherRealm graphics and signed by Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon. 5 additional winners received 500 Souls a piece.
