In Telavi, a young man , the groom’s brother at a wedding , was arrested after allegedly punching a Russian-speaking woman. He faces up to 3 years in prison. Witnesses say the confrontation began after foreign citizens insulted wedding guests, poured liquid on the sound equipment, and, according to several eyewitness accounts, may have thrown urine at the bride. A guy, is seen asking the guests to stop using insulting language and return to their rooms, reminding them that they were not in their own home and were not part of the gathering. Also visible in the footage is the brother of the groom who was likewise trying to de-escalate the situation. This went on for at least 30 minutes before the incident escalated.
