Old Guys Lift: I asked a trainer at the gym "How many 64 year olds do you know who can do overhead squats?" He replied "I don't k own any 34 year olds who can do those." It's less a movement of strength & more a movement of agility. Being mobile & agile are important too.

Old Guys lift. Some days it isn't there and today was one of those days. At 64 I won't push lifts past the point of rationality. So I settle for a set of squats with 220lbs (100kg) and called it quits. I'll do upper body tomorrow and resume with leg day next week.

Old Guys Lift, even on Christmas: Four reps of the overhead press with 110 pounds (50kg) isn't bad when you're 64. Quite certain I could've hit another rep or two, but I forgot to collar my weights and decided to stop when the plates slid.

Old Guys Lift: After 3-4 weeks off, I'm restarting training slow, light, barefoot, & beltless. My heaviest back squat was 5 at 220lbs & front squat, shown below, was 4 at 170 lbs (100 & 77kg.) Not bad for a 64 year old.

Old Guys Lift: Starting off with a neeners to the naysayers, the guys 30-40 years younger than me who would criticize my depth. At 64, a set of squats barefoot & no belt with 270 pounds is pretty good. A special Thank You to P.D. Mangan Health & Freedom Maximalist 🇺🇸 for teaching me the phrase ~ Don't let the Old Man in.
