Today, I offer my heartfelt congratulations to my friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, what a deserving recognition. Your steadfast leadership, enduring commitment to the progress, unity, and aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians, alongside your unwavering vision for a stronger Bharat has helped shape an era of transformation. From your humble roots in Gujarat, to Governor, and now Prime Minister, you are a true testament of the Indian dream - a symbol of perseverance, courage, and faith in the nation’s destiny. Furthermore, I honor your leadership in advancing the US India relationship. You have outlasted consecutive US Presidents, some with whom you had great relationship and others you have had great grace towards, yet you never wavered in exercising clear diplomacy that upheld the interests of the Indian people coupled with the health of our two countries. Now, as India’s longest serving Prime Minister, you have inspired generations to dream bigger, strive harder, and contribute to the glory of the motherland. A night I will treasure forever. Performing for His Excellency Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the concluding event of the PM’s Official State Arrival Visit to the United States. See last night’s post for the official performance airing from DD News. What I loved most about last night was listening to the voices of the audience singing. You could hear the passion of their hearts. Their souls sang with such pride and patriotism for their motherland and especially for the Prime Minister. I almost stopped singing just so I could listen myself. Following my performance, I was grateful for a moment to exchange with and honor Prime Minister Modi publicly. To touch the feet of elders, is to touch their hearts. Touching the feet of elders is a sign of reverence and respect in the Indian culture. As a global citizen, it is my duty to honor such a great leader as PMO India. Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi for your kindness and warmth. Such an immense honor to sing for you. My beloved India, Namaste. Today marks a historic day for India and the world. The reelection of my friend, His Excellency Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the dawn of a New India. Let me be one of the first from America to congratulate you on your reelection, Prime Minister Modi. I am so happy for you. You are the chosen leader for India, chosen by God and again by the people of Bharat. You have proven wrong those in the West who questioned your longevity and confirmed across the world what we have all known to be true - you are the best leader for India, the U.S.-India relationship, and for the stability of the world. As you enter your historic 3rd term, I hope you will continue to be God’s ambassador as you lead. For in service to God, you will not fail the people of India, the precious 1.4 billion lives you have been chosen to serve. With every election comes much division. But now, Your Excellency, you have been given the divine task to unify India "Ek Bharat" (One India) working to create a New India where everyone, all people, all religions, conservatives and liberals, the poor and the wealthy, are united, given an equal playing field in education and employment opportunities, and where prosperity and freedom is available to all. As you govern the most populist country and 5th largest economy in the world, may your moral compass always lead you to do what is right and best for India first, and then position you as the voice of peace and good will amongst differing nations globally. Brothers and sisters of India, Namaste 🙏🏾 The 2024 election season has commenced across the world, here in America and certainly in India. Election seasons present an opportunity for change, to put an end to outdated policies and non progressive people, replaced with voices and values that inspire and truly align with all citizens, their convictions, and what is best for the collective future of a nation. Many people ask why I support Prime Minister Narendra Modi and follow India affairs so closely. The answer is simple. I love India and the Indian people globally. And I believe the Prime Minister is the best leader for India and the progress of Indian citizens. He’s the best leader for the U.S.-India relationship, and for the global economic stability of the world. Moreover, he is a leader who believes in the empowerment of women. From paving the way for President Murmu’s historic election, to appointing women in key cabinet positions, to encouraging Indian #women athletes and their achievements, the Prime Minister stands for women. Today, India faces a defining moment. Right in Bihar. Where the value of women is being challenged. And I believe there is only one answer to this challenge. After Chief Minister #NitishKumar Ji’s comments, I believe a courageous woman needs to step up and declare her candidacy to run for Chief Minister of Bihar. If I were a citizen of #India, I would move to Bihar and run for Chief Minister. In the holy scriptures, Queen Esther was admonished by her cousin Mordecai to boldly approach her husband, the King, to help save her Jewish people. It was Mordecai who challenged Esther to see her place as Queen, her place and time in the kingdom, as a defining moment to save her Jewish people. Mordecai said to Esther, “who knows but that you Esther have come to the kingdom, made Queen, for such a time as this?” I believe the time is now for Nitish Kumar to resign and for an Esther to arise in Bihar. I believe the #BJP should empower a woman to lead in Bihar. This would be the true sentiment of women empowerment and development in response. Or #Bihar, do as #SRK admonished in the film #Jawan, “vote” and bring change. You the people of Bihar, of India, have the power to vote in a woman, to vote in change…for such a time as this. So touched by all the love and kind messages shared through the airwaves and on social media. To be entrusted by God with a microphone to the world is truly humbling. I echo my dear friend DNI Tulsi Gabbard, “While (today) is a celebration of hope, light, and renewal, we can never forget that the source of that hope, light, and renewal comes from God’s love for every single one of us.” God is hope. “The Spirit of God is the only force that can be heard in any language, break through borders, penetrate hearts through culture. If you close your eyes and listen with your heart, you will hear peace, joy, love in this performance. That’s God. The fruits of His Spirit. And that’s what I felt singing this sacred hymn.
