He had an injury during the strike shortened season in 1981, and on June 24, Barrios was charged with cocaine possession and arrested for disorderly conduct at a Division Street bar owned by former Chicago Bear Doug Buffone. He voluntarily entered a Chicago area drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic and afterward was released by the White Sox. He pitched well in the Mexican Winter Leagues and was ready to sign a contract with the Milwaukee Brewers when he died on a heart attack on April 9th, 1982, at the age of 28. I remember being shocked seeing this on the news. Here is footage of vintage Harry's and Jimmy calling one of Francisco Barrios's games.
