32 years ago today: The Snow Bowl. Nov. 21, 1992: In what might be the most iconic football game in WSU’s history, Drew Bledsoe led the No. 25 Cougs over No. 5 UW, 42-23. In the 3rd, Bledsoe hit Phillip Bobo for a snowy slide through the endzone to take the lead for good.

16 years ago today: Nov. 22, 2008. A comedy or errors, missed kicks, interceptions, drops, a broadcast crew that couldn’t keep the teams straight… and somehow a thrilling, 16-13 2OT win for WSU in the Apple Cup. UW finished as the only winless team in Pac-10/12 history at 0-12

More from the overnight flooding in Pullman. Crews are pumping the floodwater into the Palouse River. Businesses on the north side of Main St. got it the worst - Lily Bee’s and the Smoke Shop. The Pine St. Bridge was also pushed downriver, as designed for a flood.

OTD in Coug football history - Nov. 22, 1997: Roses at Husky Stadium. Ryan D Leaf, Chris Jackson (Chris Jackson), Michael Black & the No. 11 Cougs went into Husky Stadium as underdogs and beat No. 16 UW 41-35, clinching WSU’s first Rose Bowl in 67 years.

OTD in Coug football: Nov. 26, 2021 WSU 40, UW 13 A seven-game losing streak snapped by WSU’s biggest margin of victory in an Apple Cup. Max Borghi rushed for 129 & 2 TDs, the Cougs nabbed 4 INTs, and Deon McIntosh got a penantly for hugging Butch T. Cougar.

Update: The bridge at Pine St. Plaza in Pullman has moved - about 8 feet to the west. A feature made for dealing with floods, the design allows for the bridge to disconnect & float down river while tethered. Water levels here are at least a foot lower than they were overnight.

42 years ago today: The greatest WSU Apple Cup of all time. 1982: WSU was 2-7-1, hosting the No. 5 Huskies. Down 10 at half, the Cougs came back for a 24-20 win, denying UW a Rose Bowl. The Martin Stadium goalposts were deposited into the Palouse River that night. Highlights:
